SPEEDY HOMEMADE SEAFOOD PAELLA

Paella, a dish i believe is synonym to most people. Given previous record, usually i would have this Spanish traditional dish at restaurant for a glimpse of the Valencian culinary creation. However, this time i thought- why not at DIY home? ^^

In the interest of time, and also gonna be the first time for this foodie amateur to attempt making one, i decided to give this menu a  try with the help of a convenient Japanese sauce pack a try.

Illustrations of the paella is quite convincing huh? Hehe......

The yellow pack on the left, is meant to be mixed with some of your own Mayonnaise for seafood dipping. So do set that aside and exclude from cooking with the other ingredients

Not sure what base is used for that yellowish relish, but it does taste mild salty-tartness.

Previously, i have gotten this gravy packet from Don Don Donki store. Intrigued by the captivating "Paella Sauce", hence brought one home to test it out.

Anyway, first thing first, sprinkle some oil and quick stir fry your rice on a high heat for 2 minutes. I'm using calrose rice by the way. After that, i add on the paella sauce (bigger pack) into the al dente rice before adding on further 400ml of water.

As for toppings, you may go with your favourite seafood selections or meat as well.
For me, Japanese Hotate (scallops) and prawns are so happened still in the freezer, therefore such a good timing to clear them off this round.

Then you continue to let them simmer for another 10 minutes or until the water almost dry up. Do remember to use a lid for your pan in order to trap the steam for thorough cooking of your paella.

Simple garnish with some parsley for aesthetic purpose, haha............

Ah ha, almost forgotten the aioli part. Do squeeze some of your mayo onto the smaller pack sauce.

Then give these two a quick mix to for an opaque-looking relish and then just light drizzle onto your seafood. Perhaps, i can add on squid, claims or even crab meat next time!

Since this is my first time cooking paella, thus i choose to be more conservative and minimalist in topping selections- just in case things doesn't turn out as intended, but thank god, it was decently executed, hehe.

Although i must say visually it may pass with flying colours, tastewise however is nothing like what you had at Spanish restaurant (=
Nevertheless, if you are just looking for a quick fix, then this still works by all means.

So, have fun & happy trying guys!
