4TH AESTHETIC MEDICINE & SURGERY CONFERENCE (AMSC) MALAYSIA 2025 | GLOBAL AESTHETIC LEADERS CONVERGE IN KUALA LUMPUR, KLCC AS AMSC 2025 HIGHLIGHTS MALAYSIA’S VISION TO SHAPE THE FUTURE OF AESTHETIC MEDICINE
Malaysia’s push to position itself at the forefront of medical innovation was on full display today with the official opening of the 4th Aesthetic Medicine & Surgery Conference (AMSC) Malaysia 2025 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC). Officiated by Dr. Kelvin Yii Lee Wuen, Member of Parliament for Kuching who is also Political Secretary to the Minister of Human Resource, the ceremony highlighted Malaysia’s ability to convene global experts while reinforcing its ambition to become a leading hub of aesthetic medicine in the region.
In his opening remarks, Yii described the event as a timely reflection of Malaysia’s growing influence internationally. “Malaysia is proud to serve as a collaborative and educational hub for medical professionals across borders. AMSC reflects our continued commitment to innovation and excellence in healthcare,” he said, adding that this year’s conference complements Malaysia’s broader vision as ASEAN Chair to foster deeper regional integration through knowledge‑sharing and high‑value sectors like medical science.
Co‑organised by the Malaysian Society of Aesthetic Medicine (MSAM) and Deltus, the two-day conference expects to welcome over 1,600 delegates from more than 30 countries. This year’s AMSC marked two significant milestones for regional collaboration. The Malaysian debut of PINOKIO Asia brought together leading plastic surgeons under the Republic of Korea’s renowned Plastic Innovative Nasal Oromaxillofacial Korean International Organisation, setting a new benchmark for cross-border knowledge exchange. At the same time, the presence of a major delegation from the Society of Aesthetic Medicine, Singapore comprising aesthetic doctors and dermatologists, further strengthened the close ties between Malaysia and Singapore in shaping ASEAN’s aesthetic medicine landscape.
Taking the conference to another level, AMSC Malaysia 2025 offers highly specialised pre- and post-conference cadaveric workshops, including the 3rd Edition Aesthetic Medicine Facial Anatomy Cadaver Dissection Masterclass ahead of the main event, followed by the Rhinoplasty & Surgical Facelift Hands-on Cadaver Masterclass after it. These sessions provide participants with rare hands-on experience that few regional events can match, reflecting Malaysia’s rising stature in global healthcare as medical tourism continues to gain traction.
Last year alone, Malaysia recorded approximately 1.6 million international patients, marking a 14% increase from the previous year and generating an estimated RM2.72 billion in medical tourism revenue. Riding this wave of growth, the newly-launched Malaysia Year of Medical Tourism 2026 (MYMT 2026) campaign aims to strengthen the nation’s position as a regional healthcare hub, with the Malaysia Healthcare Travel Council (MHTC) projecting RM12–15 billion in revenue by 2030, fueled by wider spillover benefits to the hospitality, transport, and wellness sectors. Through measures such as visa facilitation and the Flagship Medical Tourism Hospital Programme (FMTH), the government is also making it easier for international patients to access streamlined, high-quality healthcare experiences in Malaysia.
With CPD accreditation and HRDC approval, AMSC 2025 ensured that Malaysian practitioners benefited directly, gaining access to world‑class education. These credentials enhance the national healthcare ecosystem, nurturing a pipeline of talent capable of reinforcing Malaysia’s reputation as a trusted global healthcare destination.
“AMSC Malaysia 2025 is not just another scientific meeting. It reflects Malaysia’s growing confidence and readiness to take on a more active role in shaping the future of healthcare,” said Dr. Tingsong Lim, President of MSAM and Scientific Director of AMSC. “By welcoming global expertise to our shores, we’re not only enriching our own ecosystem but also playing our part in advancing medical aesthetics across ASEAN.”
As Malaysia helms ASEAN this year, AMSC 2025 showcases the nation’s ability to shape regional priorities by turning influence into action, building platforms for collaboration, innovation, and advancement that cement Kuala Lumpur as a place where expertise and collaboration translate into real progress for the region.
