YAHAVA KOFFEEWORKS @ MARGARET RIVER WA
After a comfy snuggly slumber the night before at WallCliffe
Homestay, it’s time to continue the journey exploring the remaining session
of what MR region has to offer, before departing for Busselton.
And so, we actually come across this caffeine hideout
rather impromptu as the initial plan of visiting some vineyards don’t turn out
as expected- due to time limitation as the land of Margaret River is much vast then what we thought. Guess have to put
off this plan slightly later in next trip, hopefully in not so distant future
(=
So basically I Googled out this lovely coffee oasis as
I strongly feels that we shouldn’t just leave MR region that way without trying
any local specialties- at least the favourite of the friendly folks of this
warm neighbourhood. The fact that both
of us are also an avid fan of single origin filter coffee with Ethiopian beans often
seems to be our favourite choice- thanks to its bright and crisp acidity, that
somehow , spices up my last day in MR and I am on cloud nine learning that I
get to know the java better- substituting equivalently the thirst for knowledge
on the vino. Again, that has to be postponed to next Aussie escapade then.
Luckily, we have done that once at amigo’s playground at Rockcliffe
Winery, Denmark, cheers!
And to our pleasant surprise, Yahava KoffeeWorks offers
complementary coffee workshop for caffeine enthusiasts to further delve, grasp
better understanding on the these green cherries. There will be a barista to
guide us through the cupping session. To some it might be a bittersweet
session, but those who has acquired taste appreciation on the myriad coffee
beans roasted with various recipes- is indeed a gem and enlightening moment to
behold.
So what have the folks at Yahava KoffeeWorks got up
their sleeve here?
Uganda
Blend
From Mt. Elgon- inactive volcano in Eastern Uganda
Medium body with bright acidity and juicy mouthfeel
with lively fruity notes
Flavours: Red Apple, Caramel,
Black Tea and Dried Fig
Rainfall
Blend
Mellow organic Mexican and Peruvian coffee blended and
washed in a unique water filtration process that remove 99.9% caffeine but
retains the coffee wonderful aromas and flavours.
Flavours: Lime, Clove, Milk
Chocolate and Jasmine notes
The flavours the brightness and even the mouthfeel can
suffer in the crusade for a good’s night sleep. It is a significant step in
their quest to discover the perfect organic decaf.
Quattro
Blend
Bold, Italian dark roast of Columbian, Ethiopian,
Indian and Papua New Guinea beans
A coffee with molto gusto
Flavours: Cherry, cocoa, dark
fudge
One of the strongest blend, draws from 4 keys coffee
growing nations to produce a brew with ‘molto gusto’ or much flavour. This
darker style roast is best sampled through the espresso machine to create a
bold black or a tasty white.
It was a fun and insightful session with the
informative barista who shares with us the tips on coffee brewing patiently. It was a fun and insightful session with the
informative barista who shares with us the tips on coffee brewing patiently. It’s
a different experience from my initial encounter of Filter Coffee workshop with
Tristan
Creswick, cupping session at Big
Tree Academy and latte art with illy
Coffee at Università del Caffè della Malesia (UDC).
And
to begin with at home- French press is rather friendly to coffee lover amateur who
prefer to sip their favourite single origin coffee within the confine of their
comfort home.
Besides inhouse merchandise is up for sale, Yahava KoffeeWorks actually does offer a wide range of tea too! And we love their unique Coffee Chocolates too! And for these- we opt for 2 variants; Dark and Milk Chocolate, awesome! Don't be surprise that you might be wondering why there is a coffee cherry in each of the chocolaty sphere- cause they are actually edible! I know that it's not a common way of enjoying coffee but this is no harm and offers a different kind of coffee perspective (=
“Now it is your turn to explore the fabulous world of
coffee and tea!”, as the folks from Yahava KoffeeWorks advocates it!
Before we made a move, we stopped by Temper Temper for its fine chocolate and
some memento back home then. It’s located just adjacent to Yahava Koffee, and
we love the different range of homemade dark chocolate with various nutty
topping, bliss!
