THE BACH ALEHOUSE & TAKE OFF ESPRESSO| AUCKLAND DOMESTIC AIRPORT

 

As this round of café hopping at airport was meant to be quick before catching domestic flight (like 30 minutes before the boarding time? Hehe), we just dropped by The Bach Alehouse and Take Off Espresso for their respective pastry-coffee grubs!

From The Bach Alehouse & Cafe, we eventually settled down with some scones and coffee, since it was said that scone is one of the items must-try when you’re in New Zealand. Furthermore, that savoury type of muffin was something new to me, considering that back in our home country, more often than not, those scones are available in sweet recipes, such as chocolate muffin, blueberry muffin and etc.

SAVOURY MUFFIN (NZD 4.90)

Was told that the savory flavour of this muffin came from bacon bits that had been incorporated into the dough. While it might not taste so obviously like bacon meats, but there was really some subtle hint of the bacon aroma.

FLAT WHITE NZD 6.20

Pretty standard cup of joe for any coffee junkie.

The café boasts some calming ambience, where the interior designed with wooden décor to add some vintage element to it. The Bach Alehouse & Cafe is located at the Domestic Terminal food court, before security.

Just like any other bach (kiwi for holiday house) in NZ,a wide variety of hot food, sandwiches, fresh salads and drinks from cold beers to hot coffee are available in the menu.

Subsequently, we got another take-away from the adjacent Take Off Espresso.

Coincidentally, some special promo was ongoing, so heed on the staff on duty’s advice to give that a try.

BACON EGGS MUFFIN & LATTE COMBO NZD 9.90

Unlike the muffin that I tried at Mc D previously, the same recipe over here is much more airy with a better light texture. Not too bad for a quick savoury fix! Comparatively, it’s less doughy than the former recipe (=

  

Good time travelled quickly and it’s already time to board our plane to Queenstown soon. So checking onboard now and will be back with more majestic views from Mother Nature that truly akin to painting! Really smittened by those beauty………………………………
