G- YiTang, Hong Kong Dim Sum Steamboat @ Taipan, USJ, Subang Jaya

It’s not long after the gay and scrumptious steamboat session previously at G- YiTang , that we are now back for another anticipating feast. This time round has brought our taste bud to be tickled by their famous Hong Kong Dim Sum, which is undeniably mouthwatering and full of surprise. You will know why as you drill down further with the many delish choices of dim sum that are offered by this homey restaurant at Taipan USJ.

Before I actually try out their dim sum menu, I have had heard from a foodie friend who frequent this restaurant quite often for their yummy dim sum varieties. Needless to say, it has then brought about some expectation on the food prior to my visit and am glad that it actually didn't let me down, so kudos! ^_^

Over here at G- YiTang Hong Kong Dim Sum, you actually have plenty of choices as you get to savour  their menu from the baked, fried and steamed series. The best part is, sometimes, you would be surprised by the impromptu new dim sum creation by their very own kitchen master, Chef Yew. The inspiration would just strike him suddenly and then this affable and down to earth chef, could actually create the new dish almost instantly. And that is why you might not be able to look for the dish in their existing menu in the first place. Call it speedy innovation or whatsoever manner you put it, but one thing for sure, those delights are just awesome and tantalizing!  Especially their tangy prawns which are very fresh, huge and juicy! You really gotta try that out :)

Alright, enough of drooling-triggered two cents’, let’s see which plate appears the most appealing to your tummy yea : )

Fried and Deep Fried Series:

Egg Tart (MYR 4.80)

A good kick start to the feast!

Deep Fried Sesame Balls (MYR 4.50)
One of the special fare compared elsewhere, as this comes with a very smooth and aromatic black sesame paste that I enjoy dearly. You won’t feel cloying too by the way.

Baked BBQ Pork Buns (MYR 4.80)
Bun is fluffy with savory minced meat in BBQ sauce. Good that it possesses a balanced proportionate of fat and lean meat. Thumbs up!

Baked Pineapple Buns (MYR 4.80)
Another recommended pastry that is not your ordinary ‘Polo Bun’. The original Hong Kong made famous delicacy has been added with  some new twist by G-Yi tang chef, whereby it contains a velvety custard cream within, topped off with a light crusty layer of pineapple mix.

BBQ Pork Pastry (MYR 4.80)
Flaky pastry with sesame-donned skin makes the best companion with BBQ pork meat.

Shrimps Rice Rolls (MYR 4.80)
As preempted earlier, the prawns are real huge and succulent! Saw the bulky part of the wrap? ^_^

Just heavenly when paired with their special tang belacan sauce.

Mixed Rice Rolls (MYR 4.80)
The silky rice rolls are spiced up with some golden beaten egg.

Not too into fried stuff, fret not as there are substantial amount of steamed series for those folks in their dietary regime :)

Steamed Series:

Siew Mai with Fish Roe (MYR 4.50)

Shrimp Dumpings with Scallop (MYR 4.80)
Wow, soothingly sweet morsels with the oceanic richness!

Steamed Spareribs with Yam (MYR 4.50)
Yummy yam blends in well with the spareribs.

Chicken Feet (MYR 4.50)

Some chinese tea is much needed in between gastronomic break, seriously! Lol.....

Shrimp Dumpling (MYR 4.80)
As said earlier, you just can’t have enough of the zesty fresh shrimps!

Chives Dumpling with XO Sauce (MYR 6)

Shrimp Dumpling with Angelica Soup (MYR 6)
Shrimp is very sweet with the fragrant herbish aroma of Angelica root in the soup. Hearty!

Shanghai Juicy Dumplings (MYR 6)
Resembles the nostalgic Shanghai Dumplings with soupy minced meat underneath the delicate rice skin. Oh, remember to pair it with the julienned ginger in vinegar sauce.

Tempting mouthful bite! But be causious of the piping hot soup withing the dumpling! :)

Creamy Custard Bun (MYR 4)
A must-have carte in my every dim sum visit! Sinful but they are just so captivating sensuously :)

Tada, New Series!

Fried Yam with Prawns, a very imaginative creation.

Or the usual Fried Yam, if you prefer.

Mushy yam with savory meat!

Caramelized Pork Ribs with Sesame, smoky and muah,ma ma mia!
Baked Green Shell Mussel, enriched voluptuously with minced pork meat and prawns, by all odds, groundbreaking and an innovative twist! Trust me, it’s really juicy and sweet with every bite is just so bountiful!

Apart from their enjoyable culinary creation, the cockles of your heart would also be equally warmed by their generous warmth and generosity, portrayed by everyone at G- YiTang, from its owners till down the committed crews. A joyous and comfy atmosphere is what you could expect as you spend the quality time with your loved ones at the round table, fully filled with toothsome food. What a great place to start your day, especially during the laid-back weekend :)

Else, should you think that you might want to have a longer slumber on the weekend’s morning, then you still could come over to have the dim sum at night (while stocks last), together with their steamboat session, which commences during early evening. I will surely miss their tangy prawns and the moreish dim sum choices here!
