LWIN LEE | SEPIRING- UNIQUELY MALAYSIAN @ MID VALLEY

And just as Malaysians love sharing meals from sepiring (known as ‘a plate’ in Malay), the aptly named local establishments, offers a colourful heritage which carries an exciting variety with recipes from all corners of Malaysia flavours that makes us all 'uniquely Malaysian'-Sepiring.

This harmonious blend of homegrown meals showcases various local delights in a welcoming atmosphere which rekindles a joy worth sharing with friends and family over and over again.

Vibrant and casual setting easily set you into the relaxing mood especially after a hectic day, where the enclave allows you to unwind leisurely while accompanied by a delish spread of comfort food.

YAM CAKE (MYR 11.50)
One of the all-time favourite of mine, chunky yam cake served with homemade chili sauce and dashes of savoury relish.

PENANG ROJAK (MYR 9.90)
An iconic snack with history trails back to the Peart of Orient, this bowl is indeed packed with  fruitiness, comprising of  assorted fresh fruit and vegetables salad tossed with homemade shrimp paste sauce. Some cubes are crunchy, juicy, sweet and sour- they all together creates a very zesty palate. Just caution that it could tad spicy sensation left on the tongue, hehe.

NYONYA NASI ULAM WITH AYAM PERCIK (MYR 20.90)
One of the signature plate from Kelantan cuisine, this Ayam Percik (Herbed Chicken) version of KL comes with a distinguishing white, creamy gravy, served alongside  salted egg and keropok lekor. I particularly enjoy the nicely spiced nice with myriad of fragrant local herbs which is also  generously doused with stir-fried grated coconuts to add some smokiness to it. On another part, the milky gravy comes rather appetizing with some saltiness infused in between some sweetness from the coconut milk.

NASI LEMAK WITH RENDANG AYAM KUNYIT (MYR 18.80)
A synonymous Malaysian breakfast- nasi lemak, spiced up with aromatically marinated chicken rendang and served with traditional accompaniments.

CURRY LAKSA (MYR 15.90)
Called it an Asian marriage, this soupy noodles greets us  with slurpy Shanghai noodles that is much silkier than then the usual ‘yellow noodles’, and toothsomely paired with juicy barbequed chicken meat and shrimp dumplings for some tangy bites.

NYONYA LAKSA (MYR 15.90)
Silky-smooth thin rice noodles are served in a deliciously flavourful chicken broth laced with fragrant prawn oil, topped with tender and shredded chicken, whole prawns, crunchy bean sprouts and chives. Love how the laces of chicken breast sponge up occasionally the sweet broth, yum!

SPICY SMOKED BEEF PASTA (MYR 15.90)
Here you go, spicy beef pasta for those who are looking for some Western twist. Al dente strings of spaghetti  is served with tender slices of smoked beef in a special spicy turmeric coconut milk stew. You might want to go easy on this as I find the sauce rather rich but nevertheless delectable.

CHICKEN SATAY BURGER (MYR 18.90)
Yes, you heard it right- satay served in burger style! (=
Succulent slab of chicken thigh satay enriched with homemade satay sauce, cucumber slices, cheese and breaded onion rings on a charcoal sesame seed bun. The sauce is rather special to be paired with cheese that renders a zesty nuance hovering between salty and sweet taste, although I still prefer to enjoy my traditional satay in the usual grilled skewered form, hehe.

Also not to be missed is its signature reigning desserts that is appellatively inviting with the aroma from The King of Fruits!

DURIAN PANCAKE (MYR 11.50)

DURIAN CENDOL (MYR 9.20)

BUBUR CHA CHA (MYR 6.90)

GULA MELAKA AFFOGATO (MYR 10)

For beverages, recommend the exotic gula Melaka-themed beverage, slurps!

GULA MELAKA LATTE (MYR 11)

HOT CHOCOLATE (MYR 10)

ICED CHOCOLATE (MYR 11)

It was a wonderful feast that we went back with a happy tummy, looking forward to its other dishes next round. Guess I would be missing it’s glorious nasi lemak range and gula Melaka drinks for now, hehe.

  1. Very disappointed with the nyonya nasi ulam with ayam perchik. Not authentic at all cause the chicken floss spoilt the flavor and taste of the rice. The herbs are also very rough especially the lemongrass making chewing very difficult. Ended up I had to pick out all the lemongrass off the rice. The chicken was not grilled but deep fried so it was very dry and tough to eat. The sauce also spoil the taste of ayam perchik. I can get better ayam perchik at the night market. Couldn't finish the food at the end because of all the above plus the rice is very salty. A waste of money since its half eaten. Will not come back and try the others in the menu since they also appear unauthentic in flavor.
