PHILTRE COFFEE @ DAMANSARA UPTOWN

We were just strolling after a whisky tasting session nearby at Zazen when we stumbled upon this new café place, fresh from the oven as its signboard is nowhere to be seen other than the chalkboard during the time of our visit.

Minimalist interior decked with vintage embellishments of salvaged-wood beams to spur up the airy environs the sophisticated way, amidst the intertwined bright and warm lighting wooden enclave.

As its brand suggested, Philtre Coffee aims to captivate its patrons with its aromatic Australian brew that arouses love and desire while enjoying it with the rest of treats like cakes and sandwiches alike.

Currently only two inhouse artisanal blends from Australia are available, which is Classic and Espresso supreme from Cottle Coffee. While the former holds a milder profile than its latter blend of Brazilian, Honduras and Papua New Guinea, I decided to go easy on the palate as the night was not that early anymore, much more after the palette has been sorta awakened from the Scottish Single Malt Tasting at the Bruichladdich Master Class earlier on.

LATTE (MYR 10)

PICCOLO LATTE (MYR 10)

As the name suggests, the classic blend is an all-time fave that is easy to drink, any time of the day. Roasted medium to dark, it is full bodied with high aroma and low acidity, and ends with a chocolate and citrus finish. It is perfectly balanced to suit most taste buds of all walks of life.

Oh, not to forget the sweet indulgence patiently awaiting us as we drool more in-depth into coffee conversation with the affable and very versatilely knowledgeable owner, who was also at the café serendipitously during our unexpected encounter.

LEMON CURD CHEESECAKE (MYR 13)

Moist and dense with the right creaminess. If the citrusy piquant could be slightly elevated, then it'll be superb and bringing mouth-to-ear smile to my face. And then, coincidentally, I learnt that guys tolerance for acidity is not as high as its fairer sex, hehe. Alright, pretty interesting fact sharing for that evening, as I still kinda pick on the bites  (I was reminiscing on the zesty Key Lime Pie) while my partner in crime continued to still relishing in the dessert joyfully.

SALTED CARAMEL MACADAMIA TART (MYR 13)

Somewhat sandwich-looking to me, this chocolaty pie surprisingly turns out pretty well executed. I like the way the chocolate proportion is aptly measured so that it won't end up too sweet nor too dry. The chunky bites of the glorious macadamia nuts are another bunch of gleeful companions for they provides a different dimensional nuance to the overall taste and texture.

Caramel oozing out.............

As the night is beckoning to us, so we shall reserve the other coffee varietal for another trip next time (= I think by now the signboard should be already put up for your easy navigation (=
