TRAVEL DAY 5 - DIM SUM ICON 点心代表| 5D 4 N @ HONG KONG & MACAU

So……… after a joyful week of maiden vacation in HK, it’s time to wrap it up on a memorable note (or the best I could), before flying back home. Hence, on the very last day before boarding the plane in the afternoon, only to recall that we actually haven’t given any dim sum a try- I mean, what’s the meaning of travelling to Hong Kong without sampling its famous staple? Come to think of it, both of us are ABC, so it somehow slides off our mind to include it as part of the itinerary, may be too engrossed with the picturesque ThePeak Lookout 太平山餐廳 and the beauty of the chapel that we happened to bump into at Auberge Discovery Bay- still very much a very fond serendipity!

And so, to make it up, we have to make do with the nearest and the most convenient dim sum shop we have in Central (since we are lodging in the vicinity) in parallel to the limited time that we have before heading back to airport. Then there we go, Dim Sum Icon, as quickly spotted by the witty Romeo, haha.

Without further ado, we went in and dropped our order fast.
So Kobitos is the current theme I suppose. Actually, I was very much looking forward to the Twin Stars cutie pair, but was told they just ended last month, sob sob.

There you go, the quick bites that we got.

EGG YOLK BUNS- 3PCS (HKD 45)
Just like our familiar custard egg yolk bun

CUSTARD MILK TART- 2PCS (HKD 35)
Not too bad, mild milky in a biscuit type of pastry

SQUID CAKES WITH APRICOT& CHEESE-2 PCS (HKD 39)
I kinda like it crispy ball- with the inside is filled up with some light and cheesy apricot cheese that somehow goes really well with the squid ball

JASMINE TEA- PER PERSON (HKD 20)

Overall, it was a good spread of dim sum nosh as the expected standard. Food was fresh and toothsome. Still, would be better if I can really venture into the humble and authentic street food dim sum as how the locals love to swarm around and enjoying them in a traditional coffee shop for a taste of heritage. Never mind, let’s save it for some other day and now quickly adjourned to the famous ‘prawn wanton mee’(Prawn Dumpling) by 沾仔記 Tsim Chai Kee Noodle Shop. Seriously after this dim sum meal? Oh yes! Gonna stuff it to the max before I flew back to own homeland, haha. Told you, we are one bunch of adventurous and streetwise foodie, hehe (But for sure, gonna perfect our itinerary the next time dropping by again^^)
