FERGBURGER @ QUEENSTOWN, NEW ZEALAND

It was a much more pleasant flight compare to the first day of arrival in Auckland, as it’s merely 2 hours apart, thank God! (=

So after getting down from the Air New Zealand plane about 1pm local time here, we find our way to the luggage collection point before getting the necessary leaflets at the kiosk to better familiarize the place, and then, picking up our car of the day!

We have booked in advance with Go Rentals.

Therefore, once touching down, do head over to the rental vehicles section to inform the respective staff, in this case we just  dialed 805 for Go Rentals, so they could send a shuttle over to pick us up to their office before. It’s a cute pinky van though, hehe.

After the necessary registration and documentation, we’re ready to greet our compact baby- Toyota Corolla! As we are new to the place, we equipped it with GPS (which I think would omit if returning for second trip as I can depend on waze,  so remember to buy bigger data phone package) and also daily complete insurance coverage for peace of mind. Total should be about NZD 343, before we decided to top it up with extra petrol allowance at about NZD 89, which allows us to not necessarily return the car with full fuel tank.

When tummy start gnawing, only then we figured out that we have just passed the usual lunch time. As such, we hurriedly navigate to the town for toothsome local delicacies after checking and testing the car was in total good shape, hence, there we go!

Fergburger of Queenstown- CHECKED!

Initially I was rather skeptical as to why all my friends who had been to NZ, insisted that we should try out this famous burger if we’re here. And soon, the alluring truth unveils itself after devouring those luscious burgers!

We were rather lucky that day as queue wasn’t too long, perhaps due to the odd hours or lady’s luck was by our side, so it didn’t take too long before it reach our turn to order.

Busy staffs running around the clock! But they were really efficient!

Without further hesitation, we randomly pick 2 burgers to try out, despite we REALLY, REALLY wish we could order more to enjoy but there were only 2 of us, jeez…

THE FERGBURGER (NZD 11)
Prime New Zealand beef, with lettuce, tomato, red onion, aioli and tomato relish.
Juicy and wonderfully composed! The prime beef is undoubtedly the bomb!

CHIEF WIGGUM (NZD 14)
Slow roasted New Zealand pork belly, lettuce, tomato, red onion and hash brown., drizzled with aioli and a delicious apricot seeded mustard.

Never did it cross my mind that I would actually bump into pork belly in my jumbo burger! As excitingly as it may sound, do prepare that this is one huge burger that really gonna fill you up to the brink, with its generous layers of pork belly, seriously! No wonder it’s the CHIEF, per se! Haha…..

Of course, as some of you might be wondering as to whether did I manage to finish it by myself? You better don’t bet on that cause, I really raised the white flag as it’s far too much for me to totally clear it all up, although I’m really tempted to do so, haha. So, left it to my CFC manager to happily basking in it, hehe.

HOT CHOCOLATE (NZD 5.90)
Thought of giving it a try since it’s special beverage of the day form Mrs Fer Gelatos.
Caveat be taken- it’s indeed, really, uber chocolaty which I might enjoy more had I not eaten the gigantic burger earlier. Therefore, not much space in my stomach was left for this rich hot chocolate drink, what a pity. Nevertheless, it’s really good, and I’m happy even only after few sips, haha.

No wonder it’s touted as the busy joint known for high-end, inventive burgers made with tantalizing beef, chicken and other exotic proteins from its own inhouse recipes. Simply terrific!

Beautiful view were already spotted just outside of the premises! Can't really wait to discover more! Or some just within walking distance!

Stay tuned for more scenic places coming up!
