BREAD IN COMMON @ FREMANTLE

Enroute after the wonderful sighting of Bunburry Lighthouse earlier, we were supposed to return back to Perth for a night before flying off the very next day. That means- time was golden so we need to make the best use out of it.
Having said that, it would be a waste if we really gave Fremantle a pass without stopping by. So we decided to make it fast to at least catch a quick glimpse of how the historical building looked like and also browsing the market really instant. But before that, let’s have a quick nosh of the local fresh bakes!
So we settled down with Bread in Common after getting suggestion from an Aussie friend on which was his fave café to go.
Equipped with seasonal menus and artisanal breads in a lofty warehouse space with wood-fired, volcanic-rock ovens, this place certainly looked rustic and hipster in a way, not to mention aesthetically enticing too! All the breads were daily baked, made from organic flours, salt and spices through a slow sourdough fermentation process.
 Wood-fired organic bread
A choice from common loaf, wholemeal sourdough, olive ciabata or rye to go with your preferred dipping. For somehow who loves earnest house rendition, House churned salted butter was the easy decision, after all what do you expect from a true blue butter lover^^
You just can’t go wrong with country bread that was freshly baked, yumz!
Duck fat roasted potatoes with lemon thyme and ketchup (AUD 14)
Reminds me of duck confit but this potato cubes that had been thoroughly infused with duck fat actually gave a much stronger meaty nuance than its French iconic dish counterpart.

Wish I had more time for dessert though……. thence a long black would do for now.
Anyway, let’s adjourned to a lovely day of the city sight-seeing!
And our travel journey continues.............
Cheers for now and follow us at Carpe Diem for more ‘food-ful’ discoveries! ℒℴѵ
