LWIN LEE | NANA’s GREEN TEA @ GARDENS

It’s been some several rounds of return to Nana’s Green Tea place, as though the craze over matcha is not yet over and still pretty much lingering around ,hehe. So be prepared for another upcoming blogs covering 2 new establishments pertaining to this matcha relish, which still remains rather challenging to some’s taste buds. It’s either you hate it or like it (=

This predilection of green tea over cheese has been taking place since a year or so, without realizing. The acquired taste has since become an appreciated flavor and created anticipation for more various innovative rendition.

Anyhow, let’s get the feast started a little wiser this time. Tried out the hot tea series rather than the usual milky ones, so that the tummy could retain more space! Lolz…

UJI CHA (MYR 7.80)
Touted to be the highest quality of all Japanese tea with sophisticated bitter sweet taste. This Uji premium green tea tends to be smooth and pure on the palate.

THIN MATCHA LATTE (MYR 8.80) & HOT MATCHA LATTE (MYR 9.80)
The former is akin to our local “Teh-O Kosong”, served without milk and sugar, whereas the latter is a glass of matcha green tea with milk but without sugar.

SALMON DON (MYR 18.80)
Salmon sashimi served over warm millet  rice garnished with sesame, nori, Japanese pickled ginger, spring onion and pea sprout. Comes with a rather unique relish of black sesame in shoyu dressing.

CHICKEN CURRY (MYR 16.80)
A generous serving of Japanese curry served over warm millet rice with chicken cutlet. But am still more inclined to chicken karaage for the more subdued meaty taste of the chicken meat.

MATCHA “WARABIMOCHI” PARFAIT (MYR 19.80)
An artisan dessert starting with a layer of Kanten jelly and Matcha syrup then topped with soft served vanilla ice cream, generous layer of cornflakes and garnished with a Matcha ice cream, jelly made of bracken starch dipped in Kinako, red bean paste, whipped cream and a drizzle of Matcha Syrup.

Nevertheless, I still prefer the ultimate matcha indulgence of Matcha “Nama Chocolate”  Parfait from previous visit. I enjoy the robust bursting flavour of the matcha chocolates very much. May be not so a big fan of jelly after all, hehe.

Cheers for now and Carpe Diem!
