Bofe Eatery has been greeting the folks around Seksyen 19, PJ for nearly 1 year now (since June 2014) with its potpourri of various interesting and homey recipes to warm the cockles of your heart.







Not only is the interior design of the café captivating enough with a poised intermix of both chic and elegant setting especially with the use of turquoise hue, creating a reposeful sensation suitable for anyone to unwind his or her day relaxingly, away from the hustle and bustle of metropolis pace.


Well-said!






It was the brainchild of 6 resourceful matey, who all has the same passion and love for food, with the culinary virtuoso task mainly helmed by Tony, who managed the kitchen swiftly and also bakes delish Tiramisu.





To start off, we were served several light bites as appetizers before we got ushered on whimsically with its creative interpretations of classic Asian fusion favourites.


 


TRUFFLE FRIES MYR 8.90
Straight cut fries dash of truffle oil and topped with parmesan cheese. You would never go wrong with the  truffle oil (=




Were really good and could pull off easily as one of the best snack over a tête-à-tête session.




VODKA INFUSED CRAB CANAPES MYR 11.90
Fresh crabmeat with a dash of vodka topped on crackers. Makes an ideal and simple nosh, livened up by a tinge of vodka whiff.





Fun tapas of Blue Shelled Crab or commonly known as Flower Crab, mixed with onion, capsicums and a delicate drop of balsamic vinaigrette reduction to inject some subtle sweetness to this little lovely bite-sized morsel.



Although the vodka taste is not so evident palatably here (as it’s meant to be just a whiff of hint), I do enjoy the refreshing zest that comes with the juiciness of the finely diced bell peppers together with the crab meat laces.


Soft shell crab seems to be the in things lately (=

SALTED EGG SOFT SHELL CRAB PASTA MYR 21.90
Japanese influence is woven through the al dente Italian spaghetti with crispy soft shell crab.




Usually well-known amongst regulars, this seasonal dish (depending on the soft shell crab availability) is served deliciously in light milky gravy, enriched with flavourful salted egg yolk and some helping of Thai chilli flakes for some spicy kick! The hotness level is still friendly to any faint tongues but diners could always opt for a spicier dose upon request.
                                                                                      



With Thai Chilli Flakes, it further spices up the overall taste deliciously with some mild pungency and still not that overly spicy. But of course, customers who have a yen for spicier palate could always ask for extra chilli flakes for the instant kick!




It’s a seasonal dish and currently are popular by Bofe’s regular customer as it’s yet to be in the menu. Of course, while waiting for new menu to be rolled out, new customers and curious foodies could always request its availability from its friendly and helpful team. So look out for the special dish of the day on their colorful chalkish board!

PERANAKAN DUCK MYR 19.90
Braised duck nyonya styled serve with rice, crispy spring rolls, emping crackers and sambal belacan







Duck leg has been roasted beforehand and oven-braised with potatoes and carrots for another few hours in spiced gravy to ensure the thorough absorption of the herb aroma into each component. The spud in this case has done a better job and appears more outstanding with its moist and savory sapidity in its smooth mushiness. It feels so homey! (=






SEABASS CILANTRO BUERRE BLANC MYR 18.90
Pan fried seabass fillet served with cilantro butter sauce and pilaf rice




The salad is drizzled with tangy balsamic dressing for more tart appeals.




What’s best to counter the sultry day after a scrumptious feast other than zesty fresh fruit juices and perhaps, some caffeine fix too? ^_^

Food and beverages look promising here especially the healthy fruit juices that are freshly pressed and squeezed without any sugar. I have no qualms dropping by again to savour its other mouthwatering dishes that also includes the sweet bites of brownies and tiramisu that are home baked by Kin’s auntie and Tony respectively.
