Opening its doors on 28th September 2018 at the Riverview entrance of The Gardens Mall, YU by Ruyi is the latest addition to the family of RUYI & LYN offering pork-free Chinese Cuisine for all Malaysians to enjoy!

Designed within an intimate dining space incorporating a cozy cocktail bar – YU offers fresh dim sum and high tea from 11am - 4pm daily as well as an eclectic Modern Chinese Menu crafted by award winning Chef James Ho of RUYI & LYN. With a global culinary background, Chef James currently holds multiple awards from the Malaysian International Gastronomy Festival (MIGF) and the regional Hospitality Asian Platinum Awards including Asian Masterchef: Master of Authenticity.

Unique signature dishes such as the deconstructed “Chick-U-Tei”-also  a social media picture worthy redefinition of a comfort Chinese herbal soup, and the “Pekingnese Princess” of which aromatic crispy duck skin sandwiches a swirl of foie gras mousse adopts a millennial’s take on traditional Chinese dishes to ensure a successive appreciation of fine Chinese cuisine designed for the next generation of diners.

YU BY RUYI’s new Chinese pastry division offers daily freshly baked pastries such as house specialty Golden Foie Gras Puff, Crispy Swan and Portuguese Egg Tarts for dim sum. The outlet is also giving out a giant XXL Steamed Dim Sum basket giveaways on social media to 10 lucky winners on a monthly basis! Isn’t that cool?

The hint of subtle green tea flavour is well complimented by the ikura especially, that helps to inject some oceanic nuance to it that at one point of time, it tastes almost similar to seaweed flavour to me.

With YU’s opening,  RUYI & LYN is also proud to announce its global expansion into Melbourne in collaboration with Australian restaurateurs Calia Collective. YU Kitchen, a 200-seater Chinese restaurant, is scheduled to open on the ground floor luxury precinct of Chadstone Shopping Mall in December 2018, will also include a range of signature dishes by 2 Michelin-starred Chef Chen Kentaro of Shisen Hanten, Singapore.  Both Malaysian and Australian collaborators will be facilitating guest chefs’ crossover events and culinary exchanges between both outlets regularly to an exclusive dining clientele. Can’t wait to drop by the next time I’m in Australia again!

If I have to pick a few, my favourite choice would go to the delightfully light and crispy Kataifi Mango Roll, the juicy and bouncy Crispy Bean Curd Prawn Roll, and not forgetting the enchantingly alluring Flower Pillow Matcha!  Being a true blue fan of anything about matcha, I can’t help but to naturally gravitate to any sort of such salubrious greenery!
