the Yule mood in the spirit of Christmas and New Year 2017, Berjaya Times Square Hotel has also organized a special
Christmas Cooking Workshop in conjunction with their launching of the upcoming
festive gala- Christmas Eve& New Year’s Eve culinarypromotion over here at Samplings
on the Fourteenth Restaurant
That
mirthful evening was hosted by the youthful Hideaki Lim, while the live cooking
demonstration is guided Executive Chef Koay and by Pastry Sous Chef John.

Of
all, I’m very much inclined to the sweet delicacy session which was led by the
affable Pastry Sous Chef John Wong, assisted by amiable Chef Ganesh. Being a
die-hard dessert lover, what do you expect? Hehe…..
This
festive confectionary is definitely one of its kind of sweet indulgence that I
usually seen- where in this case; rhubarb- a type of sweet veggie but is
usually associated with dessert recipe. It has somewhat long and thick red
stalks (or white-greenish occasionally) that could have you easily mistaken for
a leek. They are crisp and fleshy with a tart taste, and often used as fruit in
preparing crumbles and pies after blanching it with sugar.
And
I was honoured to have this personally plated rhubarb dessert by Chef John!
Thank you very much for your informative sharing and enlightening us! By the
way, the berries compote was awesome! The rhubarb slice, if taken with sour
cream, become extraordinarily much more pleasurable compared on its own. Simply
put it, it tastes much better with cream along!
