FOOD GUIDE @ SKY AVENUES, RESORTS WORLD GENTING
Apart from the current aesthetic enlightenment of East Coast Arts & Cultural at the SeniKome Peng Heng, visitors to Genting Highlands, particularly Sky Avenues Mall, could now expect more
culinary adventures awaiting to be explored as it slowly full-fledged unveiling
itself, offering more dining choices to its guests.
Recently, we have the privilege to experience one-of-its-kind
gourmet trail where our tastebuds have been amusingly (and of course,
‘food-fully’) amazed by 28 different and interesting food and beverages
eateries, all bearing its respective uniqueness and strategically housed under
the same chic roof of Sky Avenues Mall.
For those of you who have yet to pay a visit to Sky Avenues Mall
and is wondering how it’s like, here is a quick overall glance of the latest mall
addition to Genting Highlands.
SkyAvenue is a unique retail concept because it was
conceived as an amalgamation of the things that Resorts World Genting do best:
entertainment, dining and retail catered specifically to Resorts World Genting
varied visitor profile.
Branded a new-concept lifestyle mall, SkyAvenue
consists of 1.434 million sq ft of gross floor area tenanted by an eclectic
cohort of retail options and F&B establishments to cater for the appealing
market of Resort World Genting’s of over 20 million visitors annually; across
the affordability spectrum, from the impulse purchases to the aspirational
brands. Hence, SkyAvenue was designed by levels, with a clear-cut personality
to each storey.
The First Floor of SkyAvenue is dedicated
to all things gastronomic, with a good mix of quick service restaurants, cafes,
food kiosks, mid-range and bespoke food outlets. A total of 35 F&B tenants
are represented on the first floor including Dragon-i, Din Tai Fung, Royale
Vietnam, Dome, Morganfield's, Just Heavenly, Acme Bar & Coffee, Gong Cha,
Kyochon 1991 and Tampopo. Resorts World
Genting has also bought the Malaysian franchises for three international
F&B brands, namely London’s Burger & Lobster, the French Cafes Richard
and American pizzeria Motorino. This floor is also home to the all new
Picturehouse, a cinema harkening back to the golden age of film, where theatres
were architectural icons.
The Second Floor is designated the luxury
level. Tenants on this level will include some of the top luxury brands,
outlining the breadth of personalities from the upper income and higher
purchasing power market segment. This floor will open towards 4th quarter of
2017 into 2018.
The Third Floor of SkyAvenue is dedicated
to High Street fashion and mid to upper range retail offerings. The 51
retailers include Padini Concept Store, Giordano, Swarovski, Kiehl's,
Timberland, Adidas Originals, Austin Reed, Lovisa, Esprit, DC Comics Super
Heroes, Mood Board, L'Occitane, Bonia, Tissot, Shu Uemura, Muse by Watson, SK-II,
Thomas Sabo, Puma, and Samsung. Swedish outfitters H&M will open in
September. The third level of SkyAvenue will also offer a duty-free shopping
arcade soon.
The Centre of the Resorts World Genting hub
of connectivity is located on the fourth floor. SkyAvenue Station serves as the
landing platform for Awana Skyway, the resort's new cable car system, making
SkyAvenue the nexus between the retail and entertainment spaces and the
hospitality component.
For the moment level
four’s most enticing attraction is Malaysian Food Street, a retro-themed blast
from the past food hall featuring Malaysia’s finest hawker fare spread over
40,000 sq ft, with 1,000 seats and five distinct zones, namely Little India,
Malacca, Teluk Intan, Kuching and Chinatown. Each zone is characterised by
replicas of things or places pertinent to the location.
Q4 2017 will mark the
opening of the alfresco dining. But already serving customers on this floor are
San Francisco Coffee, Pappa Rich, Mr Lok Lok, Zok Noodle House, BarBQ Plaza, Go
Noodle House, Palsaik, Zok Noodles House and Ah Yat Kitchen.
As for The Ground and Second Floor will open in stages by the fourth quarter of 2017
through 2018.
So much so we are eager to share out our wonderful epicurean
journey in details from our favourite selections, but first, let’s have a quick
