THE GAP AND NATURAL BRIDGE @ ALBANY, PERTH

Subsequent to the interlude of late lunch over at Emu Point Café, we head over to one of Albany’s best kept gem- The Gap and Natural Bridge, which is located some 10 kilometres south of Albany via Frenchman Bay Road, within the Torndirrup National Park in the Great Southern region of Western Australia.

By the time we reached the park, it was going to be dusk very soon but luckily, we still manage to catch the sunset and the earlier last few rays of the sun before the day prepared itself for the night transition.

It was very windy and cooling especially when you walk towards to the cliff of the rocks and granites, which mean cladding in some tanks might be chilling to some. But it was still alright for me in a once piece attire- I find it very therapeutic instead (=

There are 2 distinctive rock types here that resemble granite, a common rock on the south coast- granodiorite and gneiss. The former is an igneous rock that is rich in silica while the former is a metamorphic or changed rock, and pronounce as ‘nice’.

So how the nature builds the bridge by itself?
It’s actually done in the making since millions of years ago, where the Natural Bridge has been sculptured by the relentless power of water, waves and wind.

Well, we were gazed in amazement of the nature bewildering beauty………….
So here you go, some of the many snapshots that we gotten (these are actually just tip of the iceberg from the many hundreds that I took as I do not wish to hold you too long, minimize your scrolling time with data usage, hehe)

Cheers for now and follow us at Carpe Diem for more ‘food-ful’ discoveries! ❤ℒℴѵℯ❤
