MARCO POLO RESTAURANT 富臨門酒家 @ WISMA LIM FOO YONG, KUALA LUMPUR

Ask any dim sum fans, and they will eagerly rave about how spectacular the Oriental spread is at Marco Polo Restaurant, located at Wisma Lim Foo Yong in the city centre of Bukit Bintang Golden Triangle.

This chic setting yet gemütlich Chinese restaurant epitomizes the quintessential morning staples of many Chinese folks who adore homey feast of Oriental Dim Sum served successively either baked, fried or steamed baskets- and that’s not only that. These are only the tip of the iceberg of the rest of the mains.

Thence it’s not surprising that Marco Polo is popularly patronized by its regulars whenever they are looking for the perfect spot for both business meetings and family occasions over tantalizing dishes that caters for lunch as well as dinner. I for one are always in awe with their lunch menu that gets executed in timely manner despite during rush hours like office lunch time. Of course, prior reservation is always welcomed and appreciated for that would ensure swift flow from both parties.

For this time round, I choose to escape from the usual peak hours in order to enjoy their moreish offerings sensuously on one leisure weekend. And let me tell you, the mood and the atmosphere are totally different when you’re game to indulge in earnest recipe embodying the culinary heritage that any connoisseur could ask for (=

We started off the fête with its alluring signature Dim Sum menu before venturing further to its other popular plates.

Dim sum menu starts from MYR 7.80 onwards which I think is pretty decent, considering the great amount of quality ingredients used in preparing the food, not forgetting they are also freshly made inhouse which makes that even more worthwhile. Don’t’ take my words literally but try them all by yourself- for I believe your taste bud won’t lie to you.

Coming up next was another astounding retro treat that no one would reject- despite we were already full to the brim with yummy Dim Sum earlier on!
I mean how not to when you are savouring the good taste of childhood, inspired from the owner of this restaurant who has actually spent decades of her lifetime in Hong Kong, thus bringing authentic Oriental cuisine to the foodies of Klang Valley.

Back then, this nostalgic dish was made popular at the iconic Petaling Street as one of the famous street food. Slices of thick juicy roast pork are sautéed in garlic soy sauce with tad pepper, harmoniously mixed with dark soy sauce and sugar- just nice to give those springy noodles some light caramelized nuance.

Personally, I feel this recipe was brilliantly executed, rendering it an enticingly peppery palate that will get you hooked on for more. What an absolutely convincing grub we have here!

As part of embracing the new norm of post-Covid9 and also to ensure each dine-in guests could relish in their meals with peace of mind, Marco Polo uses high temperature steam to sanitize every surfaces of their dining fixture and furniture in the restaurant.
On top of that in adhering to social distancing SOP, the entire restaurant’s dining space and table settings have been rearranged to only 60% from its usual full capacity. Therefore, dine-in guests could indulge in their wholesome feast enjoyably with peace of mind.

Not only that, Marco Polo is also currently running a special 30% discount for all of their ala carte! This not-to-be-missed great deal is only available for a short period of time, up to 31st August 2020. Therefore, folks what are you waiting for? Hurry up and remember to grab the deal fast! As the saying goes, “Make hays while the sun shines………..”
