Okomen Japanese Restaurant @ Desa Sri Hartamas 2
Okomen is definitely one of the best Japanese
serving in town if you’re looking for Okonomiyaki dish, especially. The décor
of this restaurant is really delicate and full of Japanese elements with the
Zen paintings as well as the surrounding embellishment.
This was my first time to Desa Sri Hartamas
area as compared to my normal hangouts, which are usually around Golden
Triangle and Northern of Petaling Jaya. But this maiden dining has enticed me
to come back for more discoveries in near time. ^_^
We tried the signature dish, Osaka Okonomiyaki.
We tried the signature dish, Osaka Okonomiyaki.
Am kind of thrilled the moment I saw the dish
laid on the table. Why? Simply because the gravy design on top of it was so
quirky and enough to lure you to faster dig into it. It did remind me of JCo
donuts at one time, haha.
I would say the gravy taste real nice as it
is not salty and thick as it might have portrayed. Taste bit sweet amidst some
saltiness of the mayonnaise I guess. Underneath the gravy layer was varieties
of ingredients like cabbage, seafood and topped off with some savoury Bonito
flakes. Love it so much! Ooishine……
Then Seafood Yakisoba arrived awhile later.
The fragrantly fried soba noodle with dark
sauce was very aromatic. It came with big juicy prawns, tangy squids, pork
fillets and some cabbages with Katsuobushi as well. That certainly enhanced the
flavor further. Not too salty, but just nice. The Yakisoba I usually have are
stir-fried without dark sauce, and this one definitely has widened up my
options.
One thing
not to be missed for every Japanese dining would be green tea. Guests are
treated to free flow of Matcha and the service was amiable and efficient.
Not forgetting to mention about their quirky interior decor as well. Such a aesthetic sight to behold :)
