Restoran Cowboy Delight Western Food
After a breathtaking view at Cheras’s “Small Genting” hill while testing my new compact DSLR, my friend suggested that we head to the nearby Cowboy place for a decent feast of Western food. It is situated quite hidden deep into the area of Cheras after Cuepacs, and is frequently patronized by the locals there. Guess if not because of him, I might not know of this place :D It actually offers a pretty good choice of Western menu to choose from. Although the place seems a bit tardy and old, surprisingly the place is seems quite packed with customers. While waiting for the course to be ready, get a few sip of the cold Jasmine tea. It’s quite chilling, suitable for the warm night.
Blueberry Smoothie
Apparently
the Blueberry Smoothie is not what as I expected. It is more like a blueberry
syrup drink that has been blended together with ice. So you only feel kind of
sweetened beverage with blueberry flavor. But at least some milk ought to be
incorporated in order to live up to its name so called smoothie. But if you are
not that particular, you could still take it as normal iced drink.
Cheesy Chicken
This serving
of Cowboy’s Cheesy Chicken (pun
intended), comes just nice and in moderate portion. The chicken chop is quite
tangy and nicely topped off with some ham and also not to be missed, a slice of cheddar cheese. It is not gooey but when
eaten together with the ham and chicken meat still boast quite a delectable
taste all together. Paired with the chunky fries and some coleslaw, it still
make a decent meaty fare at an affordable price.
Chicken Maryland
Enjoying this
plate of Chicken Maryland again, brings back a lot of fond childhood memories.
Reason being is I have tasted the best so far when am still a kid, back in
Penang, where my dad actually brought me to one stall located at Prangin Mall,
but have since moved to other place. Seems like this similar fair by Cowboy’s
version is more or less shares the similar resemblance delightfully. Am quite
rejoice the moment I see the fried banana. It is well coated with a thin layer
of bread crumbs are fried till golden brown. Not many place that actually
serves this snack nowadays in the chicken chop menu. And the chicken meat is
tenderly juicy and not too fatty either. Not forgetting the coleslaw that is
decently made with zesty mayo alongside my favourite French Fries. Couldn’t ask
for more for this humble fair at this neighbourhood :D
Cheers !
