LWIN LEE | Namoo on the Park- Korean Dessert Café n Bistro @ Publika
This Korean café is quaintly decorated with soft and lovely pastel hues, that are quite synonym to the Hallyu neologism that has deluged the country since a decade ago. It is located at level G3, just beside the lift, or for better navigation; it is just situated above the MPH Book Store. Upon reaching its main entrance, you shall be greeted with vintage baubles of antique knickknackeries, with a cutesy pink guitar being one of the members. Guests are welcomed to snap a few photos as momento on the comfy couch against the mischievous-looking icon of Namoo Chef ^_^
As am drawn to this café due to its special confectionary that is not so often seen elsewhere, I have earlier anticipated to try out the famous Sweet Potato Cake as well as the Sweet Potato Latte. However, Lady Luck was not on our side the other day, as by the time we reached, all the sweet potato-bases meal had already sold out! – which included my Sweet Potato Cake, even the second best-seller of Sweet Pumpkin Cake as well as the Mat Tang. Its recommended Bibi Rice Burger doesn’t appeal much to us as we have just dine at Tony Roma’s, barely 30 minutes earlier.
Jeez, guess no choice but have to just settle down with a warm cup of Sweet Potato Latte- at least there is still some goguma-inspired fare to ‘sweeten up’ my birthday celebration :)
Sweet Potato Hot Latte (MYR 11.90)
Compared to the usual Western Caffe Latte, this cup of frothy-feel Goguma Latte seems to be more dominated with milky flavor with strong hint of sweet potato fragrance. At times, I really feel like enjoying some finely-pureed paste of this gogumas in this cuppa that leaves some texture on your palate, and of course, the unique after taste. Nevertheless, do not expect much coffee aroma in this case, but suffice to pull off this rather interesting beverage idea.
Iced Imported Korean Juice- Grape (MYR 9.90)
To accompany the quick sipping detour, we try out this chilling glass of Imported Korea Juice- Grape variant. Taste wise is quite inexplicable, but somehow it reminds me of the Korean Aloe Vera Juice, which is then added with several pulps of grapes. Hmmm…refreshing but not that memorable.
Seems like the initial idea of dropping by here first serves to be a better decision, only then should we head to Tony Roma’s. Feeling a bit crestfallen still , but definitely won’t dampen my jovial personality. Let’s plan another trip to here one day again! ^_^
i thought the sweet potato latte does not contain coffee?
ReplyDeleteI suppose so, but the name could be quite misleading, haha... Latte! (=
