LWIN LEE| CAFFE BENE @ MONT KIARA

Finally visited the famous bingsu outlet in my own country itself, hehe. Caffe Bene, a Korean dessert chain outlet that is popularly known for its shaved ice delectable.

I actually had my first visit to its branch in Busan, which holds a more rustic and countryside style that is adorned with various floral ornaments and vintage wooden architectures. It does remind me of those wonderful days spent at Jeju surrounded with canola flowers with Mr Won though. Environment wise is definitely much more spacious over there with mostly speaking in Hangeul of course, hehe. Kinda miss that moment when recalling it now, bogoshipo……

So after ‘setting the hair (not head) straight- pun intended, haha, it was already dark and coincided with the peak hours at Mont Kiara. It would be a traffic turmoil if we were to head off to another area for quick bites. And so, we settled down with Caffe Bene, that so happen to be crowd-free at that odd hours before throngs of people slowly swarming the place moments later. After all, what to expect on a weekend eve that is also a romantic day’s eve too? Luckily we secured a cozy spot that was near to the counter- makes the self-service order much easier (=

The ambience was a warm one, with some dim lighting and enhanced with some plants and bric-a-brac alike.

But I was particularly drawn to these two soft pillows, somehow the purple Dino with a sky-blue setting was so magnetic to my aesthetic calling, haha.

Alright, take a break from glimpsing the environment while reviving back the Korean memories, cause it’s time to indulge sinfully!
As some of you might have guessed, I went for the Matcha Bingsu at last, haha (not knowing that the Oreo Bingsu actually comes with Cream Cheese gelato, otherwise……….. *grinning*

GREEN TEA BINGSU (MYR 12.80)

When the icy glass finally came, it actually shocked me, for I don’t expect a single serving to be vary much from a single dollop of ice cream, garnished with assorted toppings. Now it has me wondering how am I going to finish it if I had been greedier by ordering Double serving instead. It might not be posing such a challenge had we not order the most indulgent dessert like the latter, hehe.

Love the matcha gelato as usual, smooth and milky. Pairing it with whipped cream dashed with smidgens of green tea powder alongside additive bites of assorted nuts, helps made it up for the not-so-finely shaved icy bites.

TRIPLE CHOCO FONDUE (MYR 18.80)
Finally, the most gratifying compatriot came to join us on the table. It’s not double but triple fun and joys of chocolate fondue on a toast. Bread was quite fluffy and the chocolate was adequately melted. Milky and effortlessly sweetened up anyone’s day indefinitely! (Also surely an immense calorie bomb seriously!)

Since it’s a once-a-year-thingy, so just let the diet regime loosen bit for a while as we embrace the Goat Year ahead with much more ‘Goat’ and Yummy grubs!

Cheers and Carpe Diem! ❤ℒℴѵℯ❤
