After weeks of festive culinary celebration over the past month, MIGF 2015 has finally culminated glamorously its 15th year in style with the traditional awards and celebration party at CONNEXION@NEXUS this year, located at Bangsar South.
The graceful venue was fantastically embellished with huge spaceship on stage, candelabras, rays of colorful neons and exquisite layout as Blue Elephant bar’s DJ Kuma spins tuneful beats throughout the night serenading the assembled VIPs and crowds mirthfully with cheers and applause from the floor.
Illuminating that prestigious evening were various patronage from royalty, foreign ambassadors, celebrities, maestro of the industry as well as media and food writers alike.
The finale of the annual Festival’s 15th edition saw extra-terrestrial stilt-walkers, an inter-galactic squadron, red-hot dancers, and of course much fêting and gaiety in an interstellar send off.
Also say Hi to the 501st Legion Malaysian Outpost which joins forces with Galactic Chefs throughout this year’s Festival.
The merriment was further spiced up with vibrant fruits and myriad of sumptuous specially crafted dishes that went well with any beverages, be it juices, wines, beers or even tea.
Among the collaborating brands around the ballroom perimeter were 56 Degrees Whisky, Glenfiddich 12 Signature Malt, Ronnefeldt premium tea, Strongbow, Heineken and wines from Estd Hardys 1853 to complement the spread.
In addition, legion of food stalls were seen showcasing both Asian and Western delicacies, from dim sum morsels to skillfully roasted lamb spits that whetted the palates of all the invited guests amusingly.

The awards presentation soon took place at the enchanted stage, recognizing the earnest endeavours by all the participating Chefs who had made this special epicurean festival nothing short of an impressive, memorable success with all the exceptionally crafted Festival Menus at special Festival Prices.

Ensued soon was the announcement of the final 6 awards that called for Chef’s once more gathering on the stage. Resorts World Genting’s 3 restaurants swept the first four as Imperial Rama won both Most Popular Restaurant at the VIP Gala Launch and Most Popular Overall Restaurant at Taste MIGF. Followed closely was the whole Genting team winning Most Outstanding Marketing of the Festival award and The Olive being crowned as the Most Outstanding Overall Festival Experience.
Eventually, the esteemed Golden Cauldron for Best All-Round Restaurant Award was clung by The Olive, from Resort World Genting group, amounting to the biggest winner of the night, bringing home incredibly the 5 of the top 6 awards. Ed Holloway, Senior Vice President of Hotel Operations was seen very elatedly on cloud nine.

Now let’s continue to have many more wonderful toasts with all the celebrated chefs while party the night away with the fellow compatriots of Galactic Chefs that MIGF so keenly fosters. Kudos to another prosperous gala grand finale kick off by MIGF Festival and remember to keep abreast on the coming up MIGF 2016 next year.
