For those of you who are on the lookout for another promising izakaya hideout to indulge in sumptuous repast of Japanese affair with some swigs of Japanese sake and wine, you might want to check out TSUBOHACHI つぼ八, a casual yet “Izakaya culture” embodying restaurant featuring an open kitchen concept with thematic seating capacity (tatami style and VIP room are available) which is located at Publika Shopping Gallery.




This huge conglomerate of Izakaya chain from Japan welcomes you to a warm dining ambiance, equipped with artistic ornaments that aptly resemble the culture and life of the folks back in the Land of The Rising Sun.




This esteemed Japaneses restaurant also aims to bring upon the three core of Japanese restaurant principles to Malaysia, i.e. :  (Aji- Taste),  (Wa- Environment) and おもてなし (Omotenashi- Hospitality).





Most of the ingredients are sourced from Japan and imported from other countries to ensure that the food materials used are of the highest quality and freshness. Set within an Izakaya interior that is designed by a Japanese artist based on Edo period, guests will be greeted with Omotenashi affableness, wholeheartedly entertained and assured of an effective and friendly service.




Over here, diners get to enjoy tantalizing spread of variety authentic Japanese delicacies ranging from yakitori to ramen, soup to don dishes and many more, making it a place of great dinning atmosphere, lovely services and mouthwatering cuisines.

Deep fried chicken soft bone . It’s unique, surprisingly get me kinda hooked on to its crunchiness.

Cubes of grilled chicken thigh and welsh onions are skewered alternately.




ONTAMA TSUKUNE TEPPANYAKI (MYR 12.90)
Grilled minced chicken with hot spring egg with dash of seaweed sprinkles.




RAMEN SARADA (MYR 16.90)
The common veggie-centric salad is substituted with noodle here, along with the rest namely lettuce, cucumber, onion, egg, bacon, leek, carrot and cherry tomatoes to go with sesame dressing.

Deep fried flounder that greets the palate with light salt-pepper seasoning on its mild crispy batter layer on the outside but remain uber juicy within. Oishii!! One of delish pick too, slurps!





IMO MOCHI (MYR 8.90)
Hokkaido style deep fried mashed potato, certainly not your average soft spuds that you usually enjoy at any Western restaurant. This one here comes slightly bouncy and bit of mochi-like texture.




TONPEIYAKI (MYR 12.90)
Omelete with sliced pork and cabbage
  



HOKKE HIRAKI(MYR 52.90)
Grilled Atka Mackerel  from Hokkaido- interesting but it’s tad salty to our usual taste bud.




SAKE NO CHANCHAN YAKI (MYR 21.50)
Grilled salmon with original sauce from Hokkaido Specialty on a bed of vegetables and tangy mushrooms.





HOKKAI KAMAMESHI (MYR 36.90)
Essentially seafood rice pot with King Crab, scallop and salmon.
When ordering this pot, guests need to allow it to cook and simmer for 5-10 minutes for the rice to cooked entirely while soaking up the essence from the rich seafood taste. Umami!

ISHIKARI NABE (MYR 19.90)
Salmon and vegetable in miso-based soup- homey soup of course!




NAGASHI SOMEN SETTO (MYR 27.90)
A special ‘Merry-Go-Round’ flowing somen noodle set. Comes with cold soba and chasoba noodle with  assorted tempura to enjoy with.








BUTA HAKUSAI NABE- 2 pax (29.90)
Special highlight of the day- Porky millie feuillie claypot!




As the names suggests, slices of chewy pork belly are being arranged intermittently in between each layers of Chinese cabbage to ensure utmost satisfaction where each bites is equally glorious and sweet!


 


Oh, not forgetting to mention about the alluring dessert and matcha delights too!
