DIY RECIPE | FUN PLAY with TC BOY CANNED SEA COCONUTS!

Deviating from the norm of using sea coconuts just for Chinese ‘tong shui’ a.k.a. dessert, why not give it some new breath of fresh idea by infusing it with Western indulgence as well as some simple, fuss-free Asian delights?

I could still recall that my mom used to buy those fresh sea coconuts from wet market and have to get them manually peeled off before a pot of homey and tasty tong shui is up and ready for the family members to dig in. That of course, is the best way to enjoy the optimum freshness, provided if you have the time and secured a luxurious JD as a ‘housewife’. But if it doesn’t, worry not; as TC Boy has just the right solutions to solve any kitchen conundrums which then allow you to enjoy a good treat of homemade delights in a jiffy.

For the former candidate, suddenly there is an urge to drench them atop the berries pastry, which can be easily puffed up and prepared at home, with the right and simple ingredients, along with some compote (stewed strawberries) and layered with velvety pastry cream. As the phyllo pastry puff have been lightly dusted with some castor sugar earlier, guess a little dash of honeyed sea coconut might add some further zest of fruitiness to it. Then ta da, there you go, a humble and jovially garnished pieces of sweet bites affair!

Or, should you still prefer to enjoy your grubs as the traditionalist side, then the sea coconut in syrup would surely spice up your ABC further!

Just add few slices of slurpy-licious sea coconut to the assorted ingredients like jelly, sweet corns, cendol, groundnuts and many more in the handful heap of shave ice and you are well on the track to enjoying a fuss-free, delish icy cold dessert at the comfort at your home- or couch (=
