As much as IJM Land is passionate about shaping Malaysia’s township landscape towards a more sustainable, thriving community, the premium property developer is also committed in delivering a more aesthetic value towards their brands in staying true to its commitment of a holistic organizational excellence.

Embraced the Zen environment with a different perspective (=

The enlightening event was graced by 2015 World Barista Champion, Sasa Sestic- The Coffee Man, followed by a special Filter Coffee Workshop by 2008 Sydney/NSW Latte Art Champion Tristan Creswick, after opening speech by Senior General Manager of IJM LAND Berhad, Mr. Hoo Kim See.

Apart from the highlights on the latest property project by IJM, it also featured Sasa Sestic’s 80-minute documentary- The Coffee Man that takes a look behind the scenes of the coffee industry and shows Sasa’s passion for coffee that even takes him to the coffee bean source in Honduras, Colombia and Ethiopia.

Senior General Manager of IJM LAND Berhad, Mr. Hoo Kim See, explains the decision to host the movie at the gallery: “Pantai Sentral Park puts a lot of value on a high quality of living. For some, this means a being able to enjoy a lot of green are around their home, and for others this means that a good day has to start with the perfect cup of coffee. At PSP, we offer all those values to everybody and we are proud to express that by showing The Coffee Man”.

The 80-minute documentary follows Sasa Sestic, the Australian Barista Champion and winner of the World Barista Championship 2015 in Seattle, on his journey to find the best coffee in the world. The movie was originally planned as a documentary about coffee and direct trade with local farmers, but the direction changed when Sasa won the competitions. Shot over the course of 14 months in Australia, the USA, Ethiopia, Honduras and Colombia, the audience watched a story unfold that is not only about coffee, but about a man whose passion and ambition to become a master of his craft allow him to do extraordinary things.

As a special highlight the coffee man himself, Sasa Sestic joined the screening to share some of his most interesting moments from the shoot and his career in the world of coffee in a Meet & Greet and Interview Session with the audience: “I started roasting my first batches of coffee beans in a friend’s garage before I eventually got to work as a barista in Manuka, one of Ona's flagships”, he answered to the question about how he started his coffee career.

Getting close to and interacting with the man of the hour and owner of Ona Coffee in Australia was an exciting opportunity for many to learn about the art of coffee from a man who devoted his whole life to it.

The event was also spiced up further with painted creative caricatures using coffee by
Malaysia’s First Coffee Caricature Artist Vivian Lee, for guests to take home as a momento.

Voila, that’s the beauty of these unassuming beans!

Besides the special screening of The Coffee Man, over 150 invited guests to the Good Coffee Day at the ICE Gallery at Pantai Sentral Park were also treated to copious flow of aromatic cuppa of the cherished cherries, freshly brewed by the team behind Australian coffee roaster, Coffex besides toothsome nosh to keep them accompanied.

And the sensuous scent of coffee permeates through the air liberally, creating a very reposeful vibes that was perfect to unwind your day soothingly.

Right after the show, guests were taken through a special Filter Coffee Workshop by the 2008 Sydney/NSW Latte Art Champion Tristan Michael Creswick who guided and shared with us his insightful knowledge about the art of coffee making, the correct equipment usage and all the little details that makes a good cup of joe, which also explains the steeper price behind some coffee beans that are exclusively harvested. And, i was lucky to be guided hands-on by Tristan on how to best make my first filter coffee, thanks very much (=
