ZENTANGLE ART @ TEDBOY BAKERY, BANGSAR

Zentangle Method is easy to learn, fun and relaxing way to create beautiful images by drawing structured patterns. Tangling is like having “Mental Yoga”, so anyone that can hold a pen can certainly tangle- one stroke at a time!

The aesthetic class is jointly organized by Ketchup at Tedboy Bakery at Bangsar, led by Ivy, a certified Zentangle Teacher CZT-23 in Rhode Island, USA who first acquired the skills from Eni Oken- an award winning artist with over 30 years of experience exploring art, design, fantasy and ornamental patterns as well as Teacher Laura in December 2015.

All the beautiful masterpieces is sketched intuitively and coloured using Sakura products imported from Japan itself, creating lovely arts and crafts projects. Essentially, a Zentangle utensil inlcudes Identi Pen, Water Proof and Sun Proof Pigment Ink Pen, Gel and Water-based Deco and Coloring Ballpoint Pen, as well as Pigma Micron Pen for drawing, illustration and mango design.

A standard Zentangle set for parenting session:

1 Black Pigma Micron 01
1 Mini Graphite Pencil
1 Tortillion
1 Original 8.9cm x 8.9cm square Zentagle Tiles (for parents)
1 Original 12cm x 12cm square Apprentice Tiles (for childrens)
1 Local Tiles

The art is easy to pick up even the kids could handle it very well that you’ll be surprised at how simple it is to produce your own masterpiece in no time!

Zentagle was first founded by Rick Roberts and Maria Thomas since 2004, embodying the theory of “Anything is Possible, One Stroke at a time” and “With Zentangle, there is no right or wrong”.

“There is no erasing with Zentangle art. You do not have an eraser in life(although many of us wish we had it). Instead in Zentangle, you will find that mistakes good foundations to start anew with new patterns, focus and directions thereafter. Pretty inspiring, don’t you think so?

Besides creating beautiful works of art, Zentangle other benefits also includes relaxation, quick access to mindfulness, inspiration, nurturing creativity, stress reliever, improving focus and concentration, non-verbal journaling and many more.
