TRAVEL | PERTH DAY 9 @ AUSTRALIA
Today marked the last day of our visit in Perth
before catching our night flight later that evening.
In order to maximize the time left on the final day for this
vacation, we had a pretty simple breakfast together with some fresh fruits we
brought at Fremantle Market from
yesterday’s trip. Soon after that, we head out on foot by trying out the public
transport (Leederville subway) for we had already returned the car a day
earlier.
ELIZABETH QUAY @
PERTH
Elizabeth Quay Bridge
The 20-metre high suspension bridge is open to
pedestrians and cyclists and is an iconic architectural feature of the quay.
Elizabeth Quay Art, Spanda is a 29m tall design
which represents ripples and links the Swan River, land and sky. Its form
actually radiates a feeling of openness and inclusion. It’s actually located a
The Landing, of The Esplanade.
The Bell
Tower
The towering glass spire of The Bell Tower or
more commonly known as The Swan Bells are a set of 18 bells hanging in a
specially built 82.5-metre-high copper and glass campanile in Perth.
SOUTH PERTH @ WESTERN AUSTRALIA
The first view greeted us upon
touching down the land across Swan River- South Perth Foreshore!
Leafy green parks and wide open
spaces were copious! Perfect for as a spot to relax your mind as you unwind the
day.
Old Mill
Historic place with aesthetic
appeal
The Old Mill
in South Perth is one of Perth’s best known landmarks. Built in 1835 and
operating until 1859, the mill produced 680kg of flour per day at its peak.
Since ceasing production, the mill has been used as a hotel, a residence, a
wine saloon and a poultry farm.
For lunch, we tried out this
ramen shop as we passed by several Asian inspired establishment including few
Korean shops at this Barrack Street. \
The Midnight Sun which comprised of soy sauce rich
chicken broth, black garlic oil, chasu, seasoned egg, charcoal confit tomato,
bamboo shoot and wakame, was rather special.
I always love Black
Garlic infused ramen for that subtle fragrance it brings along.
Up next after a
scrumptious meal, we strolled to Perth Underground and there- I got myself
another scoop of gelato from Bocelli'd Espresso(=

Soon after some quick
stint discovering Perth Underground vicinity, we then
navigated over to Little Birds Café for a soothing oasis while catching some rest
(winks too perhaps ^^) over a cuppa and cake.
KINGS PARK AND BOTANIC GARDEN @ FRASER AVENUE, PERTH
CBD
One of the most
popular visitor destinations in Western Australia that showcases an outstanding
collection of Western Australian flora and is a popular place for picnics,
walks and cultural and ceremonial events.
Kings
Park is one of the world’s largest and most beautiful inner city parks, whereby
it is rich in aboriginal and European history, contemporary culture and offers
innovative design, displays and services. This park has an international
reputation for scientific research, leading horticulture, conservation and
public education, besides also home to the spectacular Western Australian
Botanic Garden, which displays over 3,000 species of the State’s unique flora.
JAMIE’S ITALIAN @ WILLIAM STREET, PERTH
Tada, finally we’re
here at my fave rustic Chef’s place- Jamie’s Italian!
In fact, I have been
watching Jamie Oliver’s cooking show since young and always enjoy his charisma,
especially his indigenous style who always believes in fresh, unpretentious and
real ingredients.
Overall, it was an
enjoyable dining moment within the dulcet ambiance of warm lightings. While
still taking some few final glimpses of the place (in hope could bump into
Jamie perhaps? Haha…)
And the memories engraved vividly into the ‘heart-disk’ indefinitely!
Cheers for now and follow us at Carpe Diem for more ‘food-ful’
discoveries! ❤ℒℴѵℯ❤
