SOURDOUGH & CROISSANT HAPPINESS @ DOU DOU BAKE

After the much said about this new bustling café, finally went over to give it a try.

At first we can’t really locate the shop as the landmark was rather unfamiliar to us. Its fine font printing of the brand signage posts another challenge too. Tips, look towards the corner left where you might be wondering why 2 strings of metal-like material. Take a close look, that’s actually ‘dou dou bake” in a minimalist design, haha.

Quite a lucky day for us as that Wednesday afternoon (it was a public holiday), we waited only like about 15mins or so, in the car with air condition on. Otherwise, find it bit sultry to wait at the premise walkaway.

Widely known for its sourdough and croissant, other bakeries such as baguette, kanelbullar, canele and cakes are also available. They are baked freshly every day, basically you could get all sort of carbs and happiness in the quiet neighbourhood of Taman Rasa Sayang at Petaling Jaya.

Clean and sleek interior setting is what you could expect here, apart from the al fresco landscape which poses more zen-like ambiance as it was surrounded by various type of plants.

It was already past 3pm by the time we arrived, kitchen was closed so we could only settle down with bakeries and cuppa as tea time.

Country Sourdough & Butter (MYR 10)

Certainly not leaving without trying the signature bake- country sourdough!

Fresh loaves slices served with dainty Japanese butter, pepper and sea salt. Quite interesting as the Japanese butter renders a rather subtle taste compared to my usual fave French butter.

Sourdough Croissant (MYR 9)

The unmistakably French staple, this croissant is such a flaky delight to have, using French butter for sure. Cross section reveals well-defined layering and buttery enough for the ultimate delectation, thumbs up! This is one of the best croissant I have in Klang Valley after previous encounter at Le Petit Four Patisserie in Penang. You could expect gorgeous bakes from them as well.

Banana Loaf (MYR 10)

Kaffir Lime Drizzled Loaf

Using French butter, you just can’t go wrong with it.

Oatmeal & Spelt with Raisin Cookies (MYR 6)

Choc Chunk & Seasalt (MYR 6)

And wrapped it up wish some good cup of java!

Flat White Brazil & Columbia blend from Artisan Roast (MYR 12)

V60 Ethopia Guji Natural

Just before bidding goodbye to this lovely enclave, we made sure to grab more of these awesome bakeries for the next day’s breakfast and teatime conundrum would be solved (=

So cheers for now and follow us at Carpe Diem for more ‘food-ful’ discoveries! â„’ℴѵℯ
