SAKANA JAPANESE DINING @ KLCC

Finally, now there’s this perfect gastronomic respite to be whenever I’m around Suria KLCC.

さかな Sakana , your neighbourhood casual Japanese dining greeting you with delicately crafted gourmet set within a cozy and warm ambience of Zen-setting mood.

Spearheaded by the same charismatic owner of Sushi Hibiki; Chef Makoto Saito, this establishment caters for family dining group, which is also perfect for casual business meetings as well as friends gathering and family occasion.

A quick glimpse of the environment, you’ll be charmed by its various wooden fixtures that harmoniously in synergy with its dainty ornaments amidst the subtle intricacy of minimalism.

To complement the ambiance quintessentially, each menu is delicately crafted and embodied with its own stories which are then set to delight both of your palate and visual senses. This goes from the iconic KLCC beautifully plated dish, one-of-its-kind soba noodle to moreish desserts with fascinating stories behind especially the Mozart Pudding. Of course, not forgetting the many signatures housemade special pickles as well as appetizers and small bites namely assorted yakitori that pair really well when you’re having a tipple or two.

K.L.C.C (MYR 38)

Kampachi, Leek, Coriander and Calamansi

Indeed a refreshingly zesty plate with some crunchy sweet surprise in between- bits of pickled radish is what you might least expected huh? But that’s what absolutely complementally to it!

7 UP Juicy Fried Chicken (MYR 22)

These meat cutlets are so juicy and crispy! Seriously, you do not want to miss this, nyummm......

Potato & Potato (MYR 18)

French Fries with Anchovies Potato Salad

One of the special inhouse creation which also happens to my favourite of all. Some sprinkles of fresh peppercorn help to spice up the velvet mashed potato that is so flavourfully executed with the brilliant addition of anchovies, thumbs up!

Assorted Japanese Pickles (MYR 20)

Crisp palate cleanser that arrives just in time!

Tempura Chirashi Soba (MYR 35)

Each strips of soba noodles is slurpylicious and I can’t help but to emphasize how well the tempura are done especially the ebi, which is not oily at all but the meat is so freshly sweet and springy.

Wholesome grubs ultimately, oisshi desne!

That was dinner serving. If you come during lunch hour, the noodles come in a set with onsen egg and some relish on the side.

Assorted Yakitori

Tsukene (MYR 18)

Momo (MYR 14)

Assorted Sashimi (MYR 188)

Fresh and thick slices of sashimi to go with inhouse calibrated soy sauce, which has been marinated together with Japanese kelp and bonito flakes for 1 month to extract that uniquely pristine flavour.

Mozart Pudding (MYR 16)

I’m usually not a pudding person but whimsically vowed by this satiny creation. Not only it’s smooth and toothsome, there is this unspoken depth in its subtle texture. So rich in taste but yet feeling light at the same time.

Matcha Brownie (MYR 16)

For a true-blue fan of matcha, this is simply lovely! Enjoy the umami of the matcha powder that surprisingly takes off stunningly well with the addition of pine nuts as opposed to its conventional azuki beans. Great and innovative tweak!

Okuhida Ryugin Sake (MYR 30)

And last but not least, a good toast to wrap up the night memorably and congratulations once again on the next endeavour of Chef Saito san!

おめでとうございます!!
