HOMEBAKING | SIMPLE WHOLEMEAL MILKY LOAF

 

Personally I’m an avid fan for any wholemeal bread and has been wondering if it’s a hassle to make. And……….. it turns out that it’s a pretty friendly bunch to try at home. If you have a stand mixer, then it’ll save you up some arm energy especially when you’re kneading it in bigger batch.





 

However, I’m doing it manually by hands given the fact that I’m just making a mini loaf per se, hehe. So let’s get on the steps and I’ll be as simple as possible.


Loaf Pan size: 19 x 9 x 6cm (length, width & height)




Ingredients:


(A)

80ml milk

1/2 tsp instant yeast

1/2 tsp sugar

 

(B)

100g all purpose flour

20g wholemeal flour

2 tbsp full cream milk powder

1 tbsp sugar

1 tbsp canola oil

 

Air Fry (AF) @ 150°C for 15 mins are just perfect!

(** Time and temperature might vary depending on AF model)

 

 

STEPS:

 

1) Mix all Ingredients A and set aside for 5mins.

2) Evenly mix all Ingredients A & B till dry flour no longer visible & rest for 20mins.

3) After 20 mins, add in canola oil and continue kneading for 15 to 20 mins until oil is fully absorbed and dough become smoother.

4) Oil a bowl and rest this dough on it. Proof for 45mins.

5) Lightly dust some flour on the dough before taking it out onto a rolling mat (also lightly floured).  

6) Give it a quick roll to expel air before rolling it flat and then up as a whole loaf- you may also shape it into few buns, if desired.

7) Place the dough in a non-stick loaf pan & let it proof for another 2 hours. If you’re in a rush, 1 hour will work too, just that the size will be tad smaller.

 8) Finally, gently brushed the proofed dough surface with some milk and then you can air fry it @ 150°C for 15mins.



 

9) And tada, your simple homey loaf is ready for the next 3 days’ breakfast. Remember to keep it in a container to reduce the rate of moisture loss.
