WA Café @ Pavillion KL
Have a yen for some rejuvenating session but don’t wanna miserably
trapped with the throng? Then WA Café makes
the nonpareil choice to really allow you to rest your worn out sinew
temporarily while regaining zest after a resourceful day.
This unique and Zen-inducing café introduces freshly roasted
flavours of Japanese coffee to KL-nites. Located at Level 6, Pavillion KL, just
slightly further up from Tokyo Street towards the middle concourse, WA Café‘s strategic
location makes it easily noticeable.
We really enjoy the placid break with our comfy cuppa serenely,
away from the hustle and bustle of urbanites for a moment. The tranquility
exudes by this café environment is very much lovable, simple yet aesthetically
adorned with various paintings of coffee enjoyment.
Columbia bean is the main varietal chosen by Japanese roaster
Kato-san, for their coffee brewing via glorious Italian’s La Marzocco. Supervising the store is Master Barista Masahiro Aoki
who hails all the way from Tokyo. Although the fact that he is also one of the
judges for Malaysia Barista Championship, he is very down-to-earth, affably approachable
and genially loved by his staff, as you could see form the candid shot below.
The menu choice is pretty decent, though it would be great
if more desserts and inventive creations would come into the picture soon.
Intrigued by the coffee namesake, finally I decided to go
with the staff’s recommendation, Dirty (MYR 13). And as for my foodie pal, happily
pamper herself with a chilling Iced Mocha (MYR 12). After all, it was a pretty sultry
noon that makes us yearn for some cooling beverage :)
Alright, Dirty!
Don’t ask me why it is so, but the name is indeed
attention-catching, hehe. Worry not as the concocted cuppa is actually pretty
good. Comes with a glass of cold milk that is later topped with a shot of
espresso, makes it a pretty ‘cool’ choice to have. It is slightly milkier, due
to the higher milk ratio used, thus helps to subdue the stronger taste of
espresso. I love Dirty, and think it would
be very appealing to especially dairy buff or even coffee novice. Guess that it
is just the case of clean glass of dainty milk that is being beautifully ‘dirtied’
by a shot of espresso palatably :)
Aha, Iced Mocha, there you go.
Added with ices, it doesn’t dilute the beverage but still
remains chocolaty and sunnily enjoyable. Good that it is also not too saccharine.
To conclude our coffee delectation, we could see that WACafé is determined to serve its guests with authentic and aromatically roasted Japanese
coffees. And so, am gonna return soon for their Matcha Latte, which I have been
eyeing earlier on, and would have chosen it, if not due to the muggy weather :)
Arigato gozaimas!!
Till then, have a time out with your cuppa, before embarking
on a longer journey.
Cheers folks!
