Pan Mee @ SS2 Medan Selera

After some relish enjoyment with French cuisine a moment ago, we headed to SS2 area for some hawker food instead. The portion should be lighter and supposing would be better for the tummy as the day is not early already, hehe. Call us lucky as we were able to secure a strategic parking space upon arrival, which is just in front of the SS2 Food  court :)

Suddenly my taste bud craved for some soupy dish that evening. Might be due to heavy meal just now, hehe.  So after walking to and fro the whole area of Medan Selera, I decided to have Pan Mee instead. I choose to have the thinly sliced noodle in soup, which normally I would prefer to have it in dry version, which is tossed with black soya sauce.

Delivered steaming hot by the stall’s waiter, the noodle was decently laid out with simple garnishment. First thing to take a bite was the pieces of anchovies, hehe. They were crispy and nicely fried. Luckily I took some of them earlier before they got soggy in the soup later, hehe.  The condiments that came along were black fungus, which lend a hand in chewiness, some “gao choi” to spice up the dish, and also some in house prepared belacan sauce. I escape the suace as it’s bit spicy for me, hehe.. Else, it’s good to go with the plain noodle.

As for the thinly sliced pan mee, they were smooth and springy. The soup that came along was adequately flavourful albeit being a tad plain visually. Nevertheless, the minced meat had helped to enhance the taste overall for the meat had been marinated with the right amount of seasoning. I think this is quite a nice bowl of noodle to be enjoyed especially during a cold rainy day.  ^^
