Pacfic Rim Indulgence @ Vogue Cafe Renaissance Kuala Lumpur Hotel

It was definitely a great way to start my new year gastronomically! Just a mere sight of the seafood spread at Vogue Café has simply convinced me to put off my diet plan to a much later date, haha :D

Located strategically at Renaissance Hotel, this chic and casual café holds its place in the heart of the metropolitan city of Kuala Lumpur with a contemporary approach to its design and decoration. Vogue Café is an irresistible magnet for those who are either into leisurely dining, or are just simply an epicure. Tastefully presented in a chic, French style, this is a cool place for a cozy tête-à-tête with friends. The main attraction lies in the international buffet of seafood spread; Pacific Rim indulgence, to be specific:D The beautifully presented array includes indulgent offerings such as fresh oysters, huge prawns and baby lobsters.

It is quite a different setting of menu compared to the usual buffet I went.  Apart from the ubiquitous mussels, oysters and prawns, you could have plenty of baby lobsters to wet you tastebud. They are real fresh and sweet. I guess the bed of ice does aids in retaining the freshness of the seafood. Meat from the molluscs is so juicy and succulent that are surely to leave you coming back for more.

Baked Salmon Steak with Mango and Pistachio Beurre Blanc .
I must say the Salmon steak is really fresh and sumptuous! As you savour the fish heartily, the sweet juice of the seafood oozes out giving it some richness of taste. The outer layer of the fish is slightly crisp as I believe they have been slightly pan-seared earlier to give it a contrast texture with the softer meat within. It is then well balanced off with slices of lemon and beaurre blanc gravy to give it some creaminess and buttery flavor.  Yum yum!

If this isn’t impressive enough, you could also try the array of ham selection, which also offer guess zesty smoked fish in black pepper pepper(at the foreground). Too bad there aren’t any name displayed to identify it, but it seems like tuna fish cutlet being smoked and marinated with black pepper on the outside. The intense portion of pepper used give rise to the aromatic savoring of the fillet without any fishy smell, especially to those who rarely take raw seafood, like me :P So it’s really worth to give it a try. Overall, I think the freshness of the seafood here is well-maintained and therefore, guests are definitely set to have an enjoyable dining moment.

It is indeed gleeful and a leisurely lunch as you watch the rest of the world went bustling by outside while savouring your sumptuous meal. Joie de vivre! ^^
