Galaxy Bistro & Pub @ Puchong
Call
it daredevil or pure luck, without much knowledge about Puchong town, we just
drive in all the way from Cheras, in search of Galaxy Bistro & Pub, in
order to have a sumptuous dinner. We did
miss out one turning, but eventually got navigate back and arrive in no time :D
Guess Lady Luck was on our side, hehe.
This
bistro from its exterior look doesn’t show any hints that it’s catering Western
cuisine, till you make step further :D It’s actually pretty dimly lighted,
almost dark if you come at night. It’s mainly being kept alive and bright with
the little neon bulbs of colorful ones, nicely glowing at the shelves of many
liquers like VSOP, Glenmorangie and many more. Those actually kept me
captivated for a moment. The alternating florescence hues seems to dance along
with the ballads serenading the area. Overall vibe is pretty comfortable,
cooling and with Wifi service to keep you occupied should you be wandering
around :P
Salad
Our
tummy is first warmed up with some really refreshing salad greens mixed
inhouse. The dressing used is very delish and not too heavy. It’s much more on
the vinegar side with a mild touches of thousand island sauce. There are
combination of Japanese cucumber, carrots, cherry tomatoes, purple and green
lettuce, with the first one being my most favorite. The cucumber is really
crisp and crunchy, great way to get the exercise the tummy first :D
Mushroom Soup
with Toast
The
mushroom soup is actually considered pretty good here, as compared to other
commercialized eateries nowadays which uses more powder form or canned type in
order to save time, rather than homemade. Needless to say, this bowl of decent
soup is much mouthwatering, has the much-needed inviting aroma and tons of
mushroom flavor to accompany the toastie. It seems like there has been some
mixture of coarsely blended mushroom as you could chew on them generously. It’s
done with the right consistency of cream
and not too salty. After the same fare I tried at Café Taka and Mizi Bistro,
this would come in third best I guess :D
Parmigiana
Chicken
For
this Parmi, or so it’s commonly called, it actually resembles Chicken Schnitzel
that I have some time ago and am still loving it till today! This
Italian-influenced meal consists of breaded-chicken breast, that is deep fried
and then covered with some cheese and BBQ sauce in this case. The skin at the
outside is very crispy, though I think it’s bit over-fried. The meat within is
kept juicy and tender still. When enjoying it, it’s best to incorporate it with
the cheesy-BBQ topping on the top for some kick of the smokiness, which
otherwise, could be tad dry. Nevertheless, I think it’s a pretty decent dish
that comes with thick-cut and soft fries, my favourite! Yummy!
Grilled Dory
Caper Cream Sauce
Soon
another delicious menu ensued. It’s the Grilled Dory Caper Cream Sauce. I have
always been fascinated by the caper sauce all this while for its unique taste
and wonderful blend in every dish especially if it’s of fish-themed. By nature, this pickled flower bud tastes
kinda salty with a little green olive like flavor, but isn’t too strong. That
explains why I feel some saltiness when enjoying the fish.
The
Dory is actually done pretty well. Luckily it’s just nicely grilled without
much scorched part. The meat within is unbelievably still that juicy and
succulent! As you enjoy the fish, you could some juices oozing out still. The
plainly-grilled fish when paired with the Capers sauce is beyond expectation.
The buttery and the creamy texture help to smoothen out the dry surface of the
grilled fish but complete it as a whole. It always tastes good when go along
with fish like Salmon etc, but seems like Dory could be another good alternative
too. Delish!
Iced Lemon Tea
& Dessert
What’s
the best to round up a good hearty meal other than a good glass of Iced Lemon
Tea and Dessert? ^__^ The dessert is just a humble scoop of Strawberry Ice
Cream, but kudos must go to the lemon tea. I find that this beverage served
here is much more authentic as compared to the simply done at most of the café
out there. This lemony drink is actually quite concentrated than many others
and your sense is actually being pampered by the intense lemon taste. Its
citrusy helps rejuvenate you in away and keep you refresh after a wholesome and
delectable dining :D
