G- YiTang, Hong Kong Dim Sum Steamboat @ Taipan, USJ, Subang Jaya

As Chinese New Year is just around the corner, many would be thinking what to cook or where to eat right? Being the norm, usually all would flock into those Oriental banquets or taking up the effort to really woof up several homey dishes at home. If anyone of you who prefer to take a break during this busy time but still able to enjoy invaluable moment with your loved ones over a round table of splendid food, then head over to G- YiTang, for a scrumptious Hong Kong Dim Sum Steamboat gastronomy.

Fret not that your complexion would be over moisturized by the steam coming out from the boiling pot later as they do have pretty good ventilation under the air-conditioned environment. Seems like most of the area are well ornamented with red knick knacks to signify the coming new Lunar year. Gong Xi Fatt Cai mood is definitely in the air!

Over here, you get to choose plenty varieties of soup base to go along with your ala carte dishes. As for us, we have the special Curry Soup (MYR 7.50: ½ pot, MYR 13.80: 1 pot) and Pork Bone Soup (MYR 8: ½ pot, MYR 15: 1 pot)

The curry variant is quite unique as it comes with very mild coconut milk and spice aroma. Not too heavy but good to go with seafood. Indeed one of its kinds as I yet to come across this type thus far elsewhere. For those who prefer clearer soup with natural sweetness, like me, Pork Bone Soup would be a good choice. It is boiled with Big Bone for several hours before enriched with secondary stock base when served to customers to balance the whole proportion. So it won’t be too thick nor salty, but just nice with some light peppery aroma. Sweet corns are also added for some sweetness and deep fried yam to smoothen up the soup texture. (But somehow, I enjoy eating the boiled starchy yam before they are slowly vanished in the slow boiling, hehe)

As for the sides, you have a myriad option from the steamboat sets, appetizers, homemade fare, meat slices, vegetables, assorted mushrooms and others.

These are "Meng Xia" from sea is very fresh and tangier than the usual river prawns.

What a feast! ^_^

As usual, meat dishes are more popular among the carnivorous-inclined foodies but i still enjoy my humble fare of delightful greens dearly!

However then, don't ask me to finish the rest of veges please, ╮(╯_╰)╭.  That is just so mean guys...... (Pun intended)

Oh before I forget do remember to try out the homemade relish. They are 3 types, namely Green Chillies, piquant Red Chillies and flavor of Fried Belacan. The green type is the spiciest, made of various ingredients which include parsleys. No doubt, smacking good but challenging! : )

To reduce the body heat after the intake of steamboat feast, Herbal Tea makes the ideal choice. The rejuvenating thirst-quenchers available on that day are jugs of home-boiled Lo Hon Ko with Dried Longan as well as Chrysanthemum with "Kam Chou" ( A type of Chinese herbs). I personally enjoy the latter more for its subtle herbish fragrance.

Guess that pretty much sums up our wondrous steamboat. Everyone’s tastebud is satiated and tummy is filled up prosperously. Just like the philosophy adopted by the restaurant, “ Reunion and Enjoy the Moment”………… An important reminder to self as you journey down the path : )

Cheers folks!
