Satar @ Warung Otak-Otak Che Wan, Kemaman, Terengganu.
Satar has
been one of the fondest food since my childhood time. It is a unique triangular
Malay delicacy available originally and widely at East Coast Malaysia, that uses
fish meat as it main ingredient, alongside with some flour and fiery chillies before
wrapped circularly with leaves and grilled.
So we stopped
by to get some fix, when on the way heading to Kemaman, Terengganu from Jabur.
This local nosh would sorta refresh back the memories, even though everyone now
was ushering the CNY in this ‘Horse-some” year, and of course, taste is still
of utmost crucial for us, foodie alike :)
They were sold for 10 pcs at MYR 5 per skewer. Undeniably, everything has now gone up in prices compared to those good old days, where we could easily get them at MYR3 for the same quantity. However now, these snacks have also tremendously shrunk in size, in the name of rising inflation so called.
Alright then,
luckily the taste was still adequately lovesome and juicy. Appeared to be still
flavourful with the sweetness from the fish meat. But do take precaution when
eating it as you might accidentally step on the ‘hot booby trap’ (pun intended)
as chopped chilli padi were also embedded
in the fish paste as well. This little spicy kick addition has somehow spiced
up the bites. So just be cautious when savoring them :)
