Perhentian Island Paradise

Such an enticing turquoise sea against the wonderful greenery.

So much so that nearly tricks me into thinking that it must be some Polynesia geo, if i hadn't been to this place :)

But guess what, finally, it’s my maiden trip to an island!

No joke, unless you consider The Pearl of the Orient as one :) You may laugh it out loud as you want, but it is really a genuine confession from a true Penangite foodie as she strolls along her epicurean journey.

For vacation makers, Perhentian Island makes an ideal getaway if you are looking for a carefree escapade, away from the typical hustle and bustle of city life. This undisturbed island welcomes you with its fine white sand with crystal clear water from the east coast of Malaysia, barely 30 minutes boat ride from the Besut port. People are friendly with halcyon environment to set you instantly into the unruffled holiday mood.

We stayed at the Coral’s Bay, Shari-la Resort, located at the Small Perhentian Island. Oh by the way, there is also this Large Perhentian Island located just across this isle, which is commutable in 10 minutes via sea taxi. Basically, both offer guests a gorgeous retreat for weary souls to regain vitality. You should try out the local seafood that is freshly grilled upon order (seriously salubrious as it's freshly caught), joining the scuba divers for more oceanic discoveries, snorkeling for novice swimmers, mingling with beach parties goers at night amidst the barbeque fire and many more.

The resort is actually not too bad, unassuming decor and condusive.

Oh, some scuba enthusiasts are already seen to be preparing for a great dive, cool!

Fret not if you are yet a qualified diver like me, we could always go for some snorkelling too! We could have equally fun too!

After some workout, it's always good to have some fresh fruit juices to replenish our hydration level. What's more with a panoramic view around you? Priceless!

When the tummy starts gnawing, you could refuel it with some decently prepared dishes at the many available beach restaurants here, albeit a humble set up.

In fact, the resort itself also offer its guests variety of fusions, ranging from local Asian to Western fares too.

Alright, tummy is now full and it's the perfect time for some relaxing strolling.

Even having another round of boat ride would do good too, especially when you are really unwinding your day.

After a day of resourceful discoveries, it's time to slower down the pace and enjoy the beckoning sunset view. 

Seventh heaven!

Oh, remember the unique beach parties that i mentioned earlier? Things getting warm up as early as 7 pm.

All in all, this short casual escapade has further enriched my gastronomic world with more insightful ingredients of Mother Nature, especially my first attempt in snorkeling (I was still quite skeptical in the first place as I am far from any adept swimmer, but thanks to the constant encouragement from a nature lover buddy, that I eventually tried it out. Thank you, you know who you are ! ^_^ ).

And now, am ever more ready and eager to discover more beautiful places out there that are still hidden from the glasses of the mass.
