LWIN LEE | JING @ ONE FULLERTON
It was indeed a
remarkable moment at JING, enjoying our dinner white treating our visual senses
with the spectacular view of Marina Bay Resort. Standing next to it was
eye-catching Flyer, which is a huge and admirable Ferris Wheel, touted the
biggest in Asia.
At Jing, guests
were treated with sumptuous Oriental cuisine that is prepared heavenly and
impeccably by its skillful chef. It is located at Fullerton Heritage, as the
second joint venture of Chef Yong Bing Ngen of Majestic Restaurant and hotelier
Loh Lik Peng’s (Hotel 1929, New Majestic Hotel). The classic and sophisticated
vibes at JING is enlivened by the usage of browns and taupes palette,
masterminded by the local creative designer firm; The Antonio Eraso Company.
When dining at this
trend-setting restaurant, you could choose to have an al fresco or an air-conditioned
enclave. For us, if just to enjoy the delish spread behind the glass of viewing
gallery of the outside world, it would be less fulfilling, for that it means we
would have to forgo the nice view at the lakeside. And thus, without a doubt,
we chose a nice strategic place outside over the glass-confined area, which is
facing the majestic buildings slightly diagonally.
As some hors de
jours, a bowl of Wasabi chips was served while keeping the guests waiting for
their orders to arrive. But too bad, these two diners weren’t a big fan of this
horseradish snacks, so as expected, the chips were left pretty much there in
the end (=
Food served is
assured fresh and tantalizing in every bite. We had the Cream Baked Green
Mussels and also a plate of Braised Bean Curd with Crab Roe and Fish Skin
alongside with a glass of fresh juices of orange and watermelon.
Cream Baked Green Mussels
The mussels were
juicy, nicely baked and topped with decent amount of cream came with some
peppery taste.
Braised Bean Curd with Crab Roe and Fish
Skin
This fare was
heavenly done! The sweetness of crab roe actually pairs really well with the
silky bean curd that literally just melt in your mouth. The fried fish skin by
itself was very engaging and addictive, even when you had it with the savory
gravy that is so enriched with the oceanic wonders. Really enjoy it to the last
scoop. Awesome!
While savoring the
mouthwatering meal and catching up on each other updates, some jazz music also
came serenading at the background. With the fantastic landscape and soothing
atmosphere around you, the time you spent with your loved ones, is
priceless………..
Cheers and Carpe Diem!
