LWIN LEE | SWICH CAFÉ @ UPTOWN DAMANSARA

Uptown Damansara has always remains fondly in my heart as one of the briskest food haven in Klang Valley that is ever sprouting with many upcoming and promising eateries. And one of them is the latest member; Swich Café which has been part of the lively neighbourhood just recently in February 2015.

Located at the same row of Blackball Dessert and despite occupying only half of a lot, the café mesmerizingly still holds a very comfy and airy environment albeit on a rather sultry day during our visit. Ventilation is good and set up is kept simple, pleasant and unpretentiously welcoming.

Love the clean, bright and sleek chromes engaged in the interior décor, which includes the artsy hand-painted furnitures as well as whatnots that further helps beautifying the café.

One of the wow-factor pertaining to Swich Café is its bold and inventive ideas in crafting out various delicious home baked cakes using local fruits, even some pungent ones that mostly remain unparallel in the good old days. Could it be durian cakes, you might ask. Well, no cause that’s pretty common nowadays but what about cempedak, cempedak, mangosteen and so on? Sounds mind boggling already? Stay tuned, hehe...... ●´`)

Assorted nutty toppings for you to choose from

So here you go, these are our personal lucky pick! Are they nicely Mixed & Matched? ♥(ˆˆԅ)

We started off with the beverage first, so as not to numb the palate first with stronger flavoured cakes, in this case, the cempedak variant that we attempted.

Which is your cuppa? (´`)
Rose, may be? (=

RED ROSE LATTE (MYR 11)
Great that I have found another good decent cup of rose latte that is not fully dependent only on rose syrup. It is actually accompanied by petals of rose that fragrant up the cuppa effortlessly.

MATCHA LATTE (MYR 10)
Genuine serving of a decent matcha beverage with the unique subtlety of its aroma.

CEMPEDAK CAKE (MYR 12)
I must say that it really had me in utter bewilderment the moment I popped a scoop into my mouth, for the next instant I realized, it was an explosion of flavour eagerly bursting inside. I liken it to be an ‘Umami’ of the fruit version for even the first bite is enough to awaken you up to its de facto identity, the unmistakably strong taste of the cempedak itself.

Enfolding the slice exteriorly is the cempedak-based cream, velvet and smooth, delicately encasing the fluffy and moist cake with the fruit bites itself. Love the pillowy texture indeed.

Case doesn’t rest there as you sink your teeth into the cake together with the roasted grated coconut, both of them unites and give arise to a very unequaled gastronomic tasting. When the grated coconut is roasted, it boasts another stimulating flavor that akin to two strong characters trying to win each other over. So I at the other end am already happy relishing in the cake itself without any topping. After all, taste is subjectively personal so just stay adventurous all the time!

MATCHA CHEESECAKE (MYR 12)
Ah ha, somehow find it hard to shun away from matcha delectables, hehe (=

In this newly introduced Mix & Match cakes selection, guests get to choose a cake from 5 daily rotating cakes pieces, to be paired with one drizzles or frosting and one garnish.

For my own DIY blend, I choose sea salted caramel to go with my fave pecan nuts atop the green tea cake.

The combination seems a great one as it tastes awesome especially the nutty bites of pecan that blend well with the matcha. Even the base is made of green-tea infused digestive biscuits. Folks that are still kinda uninitiated to green tea are assured to be less inferior here as the conconction of the flavor has been pleasantly adjusted to suit the general tastebud. For any matcha aficionado like me, definitely wouldn’t mind it to come with more ‘grassy’ element. ♥(´`)

Lovely messages from satisfied customers
Just love being surrounded by dainty butterflies........ (ˇˇ)♥ᵒᵛᵉ♥

Overall,  diners could expect an array of honest and healthy dessert selections over here for all the recipes endorsed by Swich Café is made salubriously with 66% reduced sugar, which is a plus point to any sweet tooth to indulge gleefully with less guilt-ridden. So head over here one day whenever you are nearby to get a taste of how Asian fruits could be imaginatively whipped up into sumptuous confectionery.
