LWIN LEE | MADABOUTCOCO @ FAHRENHEIT 88, BUKIT BINTANG

True chocoholics would definitely be on a cloud nine as they have found the perfect comforting sanctuary of literally a cocoa house over here at Mad About Coco, that has been ‘sweetening’ the heart of the folks around Fahrentheit 88 since last December.

Girls would never fail to be enchanted by the pinkish and soft pastel hues upon stepping in.

Founded by two lively sisters who have studied and spent some time back in Australia previously, found their love towards this indulgent delicacies, hence decided to bring it back to Malaysia with various recipes to share the same enjoyment.

Premium ingredients are incorporated in the recipes where cocoa butter is fully imported from Australia and chocolate powder from Belgium, thus you could expect a truly appreciation of the gratifying Belgian chocolate.

To cut it short, let the picture speaks for itself.
** A friendly word of caveat; you’re bound to get head over heels as it starts melting the cockles of your heart as you scroll down………… *evil grin*

INNOCENT DEVIL TIRAMISU BALL (MYR 20)

A match-made in heaven for chocoholic clans!

Touted as the signature here, the tiramisu sphere is intriguing enough as it poses as a great innocent camouflaging that melts effortlessly once the warmed choc sauce is being poured atop it liberally. Just the sight itself is enough to get me drooling again!

MAD ABOUT COCO (MYR20)

The second crème de la cream is none other than this lusciously appealing brownies!
Stamped with its iconic afro trademark, this chocolaty brownies is baked to perfection using imported cocoa powder and cocoa butter from Belgium and Australian respectively. The morsel is perfectly crafted with the essential fluffiness and richness but still taste light to the palate as it’s not overly saccharine. Only one word to describe it, bliss!

Hold on!

There is another surprise awaiting you once you pour the chocolate sauce over it to reveal the hidden strawberry treasure in the cavern. Upon seeing a hollow slowly unveils, it is then when you are hold spellbound and starts to anticipate eagerly, what would the cutesy love-shaped cavity has instored as it unhurriedly emerges as the choc warmness daintily melts it out.

And now it reminds me of the terrific Varlhona Heaven which I have sampled at The NOSH, Bangsar previously. Thumbs up!

And banana always makes a great companion to the chocolates! Anyone wanna beg to differ? ^^

CHOCOLATE BANANA CREPE (MYR 25)
Freshly homemade soft crepe sandwiching slices of banana, peanut butter and pure melted chocolate. I personally enjoy the satisfying generous paste of peanut butter as I sink my tooth into the eggy pancake. Perfect for sharing.

TUTTI FRUTTI WAFFLES FOR TWO (RM 28)

Definitely a sinful piece that surely leads to more guilt.
Freshly baked waffle drizzled with 3 types of chocolate on top, namely dark, milk and white chocolate with side garnishment of cut fruits; banana and strawberries, accompanied by a scope of ice cream; choice of chocolate or vanilla.

The crunchiness on the waffle edge is due to the incorporation of pearl sugar in its coating. If to compare,  I still prefer Vvaffle that uses molasses sugar in its recipes.

Still can stomach in further? ^^

TRADITIONAL CHOCOLATE FRAPPE (MYR 15)

I HEART CHURROS (MYR 16)
The churros are pretty good here, still soft and crunchy even after being left at room temperature for awhile, kudos!

Alright, time to give the tummy a break from the dessert-inundated lunch. Yeah, I mean it, lunch! Haha……

Some coffee to level down the chocolaty session (=

Coffex Coffee is used, of Australian blend of medium roasted beans.

WHITE MOCHA (MYR 12)
With white chocolate at base- surprisingly quite mild and not overly saccharine. Best enjoyed after evenly stirred for that silkier texture.

BELGIAN MOCHA DRINKS (MYR 12)

Dark Mocha with Belgium Chocolate – relish in a much more chocolatey taste.

CHOCOLATE BOMB (MYR 12)
Just dunk the chocolate cube inside the milk and allow it to slowly melt. Try enjoy it at various interval as each sip gives out a different taste.

AFFAGATO CRONUT SUNDAE (MYR 20)

Ah ha! Something new to my usual affogato.
It’s no longer a lonely ranger where the espresso shot is usually accompanied with a scoop of ice cream. Instead, cronut to take the place!

As much as I love this French pastry, it would be better if it’s slightly buttery and not too dry, albeit  it’s flaky by layers.

Fret not to those who is not so keen on sugar rush as Mad About Coco does cater for hearty savory offerings too, such as the Bolognese.

THE COCO’S BOLOGNESE (MYR18)

Flavourful strings of noodles thoroughly enveloped with spiced homemade sauce, that seems to be an appetizing grubs too, along with the minced chicken meat. At least, it helps to balance up the dessert lunch (=

To sum it up, this is the ideal place to go especially if you are an ardent sweet tooth and true fans of chocolates; I mean who on earth don’t love them right? ^^
So be ready to head over heels and get ‘Mad over Coco’ now! (=

Cheers for now and Carpe Diem!  ❤ℒℴѵℯ❤
