LWIN LEE | 猪多宝 THE CHAMP KITCHEN @ KEPONG INDUSTRIAL PARK (KIP), KEPONG

It feels really homey and close to our heart when we occasionally bump into an earnest establishment unexpectedly serving up authentic nostalgic food. For that we know, all the food are prepared passionately with all heart and soul despite the long painstaking hours they take.

And here we are, at 猪多宝 THE CHAMP KITCHEN residing at the neighbourhood of Kepong which is surrounded by numerous residential area. During the visit, the restaurant was crowded and nearly full with family diners. With affirmative patronage by the housewives, I guess this humble restaurant must have warmed the cockles of their heart with its honest and delicious home-cooked repast especially the house signature attraction, Claypot Pork Knuckle!

Saw this huge wok? It’s traditionally as well as  currently used to braised the 150 pieces of pork knuckles (be it hind, legs or trotter) for 72 hours before they are ready to be served. This legacy recipe has been passed on since 1903 and diners could actually see this cooking method live before their eyes on every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.

The restaurant boasts a rather spacious and airy environment, making it a comfortable dining place.

This session is really gonna be ‘food-fully’ meaningful especially if you are a real pork-lovers. You will be tastefully delighted with numerous ‘krukk krukk’ fried pork cracklings, pork knuckles, pork hocks, pork hind, pork slices, pork dumpling and the list goes on. Are you ready for the many remarkable swine-inundated dishes cooked deliciously the Oriental way? (=

Most of the staples would be paired with hot spring egg, mui choi, ham choi or crispy pork lard.

For a real adventure of porky gastronomy, do remember to drop by 猪多宝 THE CHAMP KITCHEN soon for a distinct and yet memorable taste, especially the soups which are simply excellent and comforting to the soul. It’s very promising as am one that seldom enjoy soup that is not home-boiled and for this convincing one, I know that it’s cooked with real and fresh ingredients for that unmistakable palatableness.
