LWINLEE | THE DUCK THAILAND FRIED ICE CREAM ROLL @ KEPONG BARU

  

Recent dessert scene has seen several fried ice creams brands mushrooming up around Klang Valley. Naturally, it reminds me of the pleasurable and sumptuous treat- Fried ICe Cream from The Spread, Gardens Hotel and also FreshyFrezy at CAFFA 2015.

After an enjoyable and reposeful Japanese lunch at TTDI neighbourhood, we dropped by this new brand after it was recommended by an acquaintance.

The Duck Thailand Fried Ice Cream Roll, is located at the vicinity of Kepong Baru, borned out of the Thai famous street dessert, inspired from the founder’s vacation to that lively country. The humble establishment is currently occupying half of the shoplot, which makes take away order a better choice.

Currently, only 6 types of varieties are available; chocolate, strawberry, oreo, green tea, mango and original vanilla flavor. All is freshly made from the milk-based ingredient with some yogurt in it, with your preferred toppings as well.

The milky spread would first be pan-fried on the special machine, before topped off with the preferred choice of flavor and then carefully rolled up in flakes.

Eventually, we tried the Oreo and Mango flavours, which are touted as the crowd’s favourite.

For chocolate lovers, Oreo would the best choice as it’s not too sweet.

As for mango flavor, you can never go wrong with it, albeit I would appreciate a much apparent taste of the fruit itself as it’s rather faint compared to the Oreo.

Simple and tasty desserts that are easily enjoyed on the go, not too sweet not heavy. To sum it up, sorbet fans would delight more in this than gelato buff for the texture is lighter and less milkier. It makes a quick quenchers too during the sultry days. More flavours would be coming up soon.
