LWINLEE | GUITAR STRING CAFÉ @ LOT 10, KUALA LUMPUR

Hankering for decent Western food but do not want to get overly guilt-ridden?
Then Guitar String Café might be just the right choice for you, which is located just adjacently to Lot 10, the al fresco area, opposite Starbucks outlet.

The menu here is pretty straightforward, offering enjoyable varieties of Western cuisine, from soups, salad, pizza, pasta, poultry, burgers, wraps as well as fresh fruit juice besides coffee.

MUSHROOM SOUP (MYR 14.70)
As starter, we had the homemade mushroom soup, which comes with a pleasant creaminess that is not too thick not too light, garnished with some parsley besides slices of fresh button mushroom atop. You could choose to dip it with the freshly baked buttered breads too. Bits of mushrooms chunks were still pretty evident, just that the taste would be better if smidgens of salt were added.

MUSHROOM PIZZA (MYR 15.70)
For vegan folks, this is one mouthwatering piece to go with.
It’s pretty much like Magherita version, aside from the additional topping of fresh slicse of button mushrooms on a red sauce base. We love the thin crusty bread that is not too floury and flakes off easily when savoring with the oozing cheese.

FETTUCINE CHICKEN (MYR 28.70)
However, for pasta lover who is often a fan of much creamier nuance, flavourful fettucine, this might not be the best pick, unless you’re more of a health advocate.

Apparently, the white sauce is less milkier, but adequately spiced up with dusts of cheese powder for added brininess. Fillet of chicken breast is used, lightly peppered for added body. It’s not grilled but purely poached, hence it might not be that flavourful by itself but works fine for those who are watching their diet.

FAJITA BEEF (MYR 40.70)
I believe this is the crème de la crème of the above candidates. Imported chilled beef from Australian is tastefully stir-fried and cooked to perfect sapidity, tender and remained succulent with the crisp bell peppers. Sprinkles of melted cheese above the meats helps to inject toothsome gooeyness to the overall palate. We loved this very much!

To clear down the throat, we try the unconventional cup of Joe.

TURKISH COFFEE (MYR 6)
This attempt somehow proved to be of an acquired taste where the coffee aroma is too pungent to my liking- hint of heavy spice fragrant is very much discernible, thus too strong for me (=

I guess I’ll just stick to the usual travelled coffee route, hehe.

CAPPUCCINO (MYR 9.70)

Or some fresh juices to rejuvenate you after a hearty feast.

MELON JUICE (MYR 13.70)

Perhaps you could take a brief stroll up the first floor of the café after meal to catch some soothing view of the green surrounding designed with an open-air concept. There are several cozy couches awaiting you should you decide to dine at the upper floor.
