HOME STYLE KITCHEN ASAM HOUSE- 金门餐馆 @ BANDAR PUTERI PUCHONG



After a quick respite from the recent trail on seafood-centric eateries, now we are back with more oceanic indulgence to the extent that the tummy also got filled up indirectly as your eyes feast on……………………

So HOME STYLE KITCHEN ASAM HOUSE 门餐馆 – a seafood-centric restaurant that is currently nestled at the ever busy neighbourhood of Bandar Puteri Puchong, where most F&B premises are predominantly located.



Highly influenced under Asam Nyonya delicacies, hence the name of the shop as Asam House. The space for dining was huge and comfortable, brightly lit with good air ventilation and well set up with marble tables and wooden chairs.



Walls of the establishment was nostalgically  painted with murals of old colonial buildings, old train machineries as well as rickshaws that serves as the iconic resemblances of the good ol’ days…..





Alright, aesthetic interior décor aside, as it’s time to really have a quick run-down of what seafood galore that diners can really explore here.

Who don't like a huge and juicy crab claw? (=

ASAM SHRIMP -ASAM 虾 (MYR 28)
Not too spicy and came rather appetizingly piquant



GARLIC FRIED MANTIS PRAWN 蒜香濑尿虾 @ MYR 48- 6 pcs)
Personally find myself enjoying the fried crumbles more than the main thing itself. As it is fried, hence the meat is tad shrunken.


STEAMED MANTIS PRAWN WITH EGG WHITE
Comparatively, this steamed version is better than the former as it helps to retain the moisture within


GARLIC SHRIMP 8PCS (MYR28)
You will never go wrong with it, and again, the fried crumbles bites are always tempting to me. Most importanly, the prawns are fresh


CLAMS IN CLEAR SOUP 汤啦啦 (MYR 28)
Have always love clear superior soup that comes with that umami flavour regardless of what ingredients are used so long they are fresh.



SCALDED COCKLES
Cockles are still an acquired taste to me, hence i'm neutral about it, no doubt, they are much bigger here. Looks springy though...


ASAM COCKLES
The asam paste helps covers the metallic iron taste of the cockles, so it was alright


PANDAN CHICKEN 香叶鸡 (MYR 4/pc)
Surprisingly, this was one of the best highlight of the feast- tender and juicy, not lacking in succulence too.


SWEET AND SOUR PORK RIBS 京都排骨 (MYR 26)


GARLIC STIR FRIED LONGBEANS 蒜香双豆 (MYR 16)

It was already yummy on its own- fluffy and slight crispy on the outside

Overall, the food was fresh and served at reasonable price. There are several types of crabs being served, and then cooked and prepared in various sauce and seasonings to your delights, depending on individual preference. For foodie like me who usually enjoys the simple food with lighter flavour, steamed and soupy way would be more appealing to me most of the time, not forgetting the toothsome homemade fried mantao too.
