TRAVEL | NEW ZEALAND DAY 3

Things were getting more excited when entering the third day of our travel in Southland, New Zealand. Just the earlier two brief pit stops in Queenstown Event Centre and Wanaka had already opened up our horizon and non-stop mesmerizing our visual along our journey. Now these………had left us anticipating for more wonderful excursion to come, of which Mother Nature has bestowed upon us.

Just can’t help but falling head over heels again and again with this lovely stay at Wanaka View Hotel even though it’s just a night. Waking up the very next day with this splendid view of the resplendent mountains, what else possibly could we ask more? We’re indeed blessed and grateful from the bottom of our hearts!

Simply in love with the beauty of Lake Wanaka!

Before resuming our journey to the enchanting Lake Tekapo which is widely known for its turquoise lakes and the iconic romantic spot of The Church of the Good Shepherd, we drove to the nearby town (actually also doable via walking distance, hehe) for some quick breakfast at The Doughbin selling the famous Kai Pai that has been awarded New Zealand Best Vegetarian Pie in 2016, wow! Lovely pies and sweet bites they have, alongside some cuppa as well.

Just as we cruising towards Twizel for High Country Salmon, we happened to chance upon another picturesque spot of Ohau Riverside Drive.

Another resplendent azure lake by fluke and golden meadow while enroute to Lake Tekapo and Lake Pukaki nearby Mt. Cook/ Aoraki, bliss!

Woahh, simply breathtaking!
Couldn’t be more thankful for the nice weather.

It might seem warm and sunny from the photos, but in actual fact, the wind blew rather strong hence bit chilled. Luckily we managed to locate the fresh salmon oasis soon after some drive. Waste no time and we quickly dashed in for some goodness-packed fresh cuts of those orangey slices!

And warm pillow’s eyes kind of sparks up in glow the moment he lays his own on those alluring salmon, haha!

We then swiftly ordered some highlighted menus and 2 cup of joe in the interest of time as we still have some distance away before reaching Tekapo.

Eventually when clock stroked the early evening, we made it in time to catch some shot of the surrounding before the twilight befallen and the temperature dropped again :D
We checked in LakeTekapo Motel & Holiday Park first to be safe, in case the counter would close soon.

As it got darker, it also signified that it’s prime time for dinner as well. Not knowing which restaurant to head to as we did not plan in advance, we sauntered around for awhile before decided that Tin Plate Kitchen & Bar is the place to go!

It was certainly a nice place to be at, served with mouthwatering and earnest culinary creation. We really enjoyed the meal, literally every moment and each taste of the carte du jour before the next surprise as fate had it- we met the lovely parents of the restaurant’s chef-cum-owner the very next day when we were visiting TheChurch of the Good Shepherd for some day time snapshot. It was definitely not expected but that warm serendipity suddenly reminds me of my own parents back at home, haha. Starting to miss them already………………

For a more comfortable drive, i guess i would love to explore campervan up next!
