RUSTLERS STEAKHOUSE AND GRILL @ ALBANY, PERTH

It’s just natural for tummy to start drumming after sunset had taken place, much more after enchanting trips to scenic spots like Albany Wind Farm and The Gap and Natural Bridge. Seriously, you should not miss these places when you have the chance to stop by the beautiful town of Albany.

So at about 15 minutes’ more to 7pm, we arrived at this quaint restaurant of Rustlers Steakhouse and Grill, brimming in warm lights and outstandingly beckoning to us when we were strolling along from York Street to Stirling Terrace in search of toothsome food enjoyed by the local folks here. We were actually undecided but then, just gave it a try as most of the establishments had already closed by that time. So we were left with only a handful of alternatives but glad that our choice of dining here not a bad one either, but a memorable and lovely session coupled with warm service from the crew.

And by the way, we had earlier made a quick stop for a glimpse of the Albany Town Hall building that was standing tall and gracefully charming even during the night. After a few shots for the lenses, we head over for dinner time!

We were affably greeted upon stepping in and swiftly guided to our 2 seaters- table to prepare us for the dinner order. After a quick pondering, we decided to go for those grubs that hardly seen in our homeland or so long it’s new thing to us.

So the kangaroo meat and blue cheese soup certainly sounds adventurous and caught my attention. Despite I’m a huge fan of dairy products, somehow blue cheese still an acquired taste to me. Anyhow, being always the curious foodie in me, I’m ready to take up the fun challenge! Hehe……………

To our surprise, they weren’t intimidating to our palate but instead rather convincing enough! (=

Soup Of The Day (AUD 9.90)
Was told it’s of Blue Cheese Cream soup!
But surprisingly, it tasted so good that we got hooked on to it! I totally forgot about the dreadful thoughts on the pungent blue cheese that I had earlier on, lolz…..
Thumbs up!!

Kangaroo Fillet (Gf) (AUD 32.95)
Juicy and tender fillet of kangaroo, flavourfully marinated with fresh herb and grain mustard. We went for medium or rare as recommended.

This is my first time trying kangaroo meat and yeah, it was good!
Reminds me of those rare moments when again attempt on new stuff like veal and venison meat, haha.

As for dessert, I went for the spiked slice of course!

Chocolate Cointreau Cake including Cream and Ice Cream (AUD 12.00)

What’s best to complete the feast other than some tipples of late harvest sweet wine from the Great Southern? Bliss!

Alkoomi Late Harvest- Frankland (AUD 7- Glass | AUD 28 Bottle)

Without realizing, the time has passed really fast that it’s about the closing time for the operations team. I guess it must have owed to the comfortability the space provided that allowed us to unwind the day unhurriedly.

So shall bid adieu for now to the friendly team at Rustlers Steakhouse and Grill and hope we could drop by again in the future.

Cheers for now and follow us at Carpe Diem for more ‘food-ful’ discoveries! ℒℴѵ
