of the tingle forest while enjoying the majestic views of the wilderness core areas.
The Tree Top Walk offers a 600-metre walk with a gentle gradient that are still
suitable for both children and adults recreational stroll.
A light stroll would link Tree Top Walk
to the Ancient Empire boardwalk via an interpretative trail meanders across the
forest floor where you can get up close and personal with the 400-year-old forest
giants amidst Walpole Wilderness that has history linked back to the lost area
of Gondwana. How lush and gigantically they are!
The discovery centre withv in-depth information for tourists.
“Much
of the plant life in this forest is unique to the south-west of Australia.
Trees such as the tingle only occur in this small area and as such provide a
window to the past. Some of the plants have origins that can be traced back 65
million years to the super continent Gondwana when Australia was joined with
what are now Africa, India, Antarctic and South America.”
The
path leads visitors to one of the most popular of the gnarled veterans, known
as Grandma Tingle, or the Gatekeeper. The second section of the Ancient Empire
walk is a mixture of boardwalk and stabilized earth paths which winds in and
out, up, over and through seven more giants.”
Such a calming oasis to the senses that boasts unparalleled
biodiversity which features a vast, natural and wild landscape, encompassing the
tranquil forests while serenity permeating throughout the space unruffledly,
bliss! Suffice to say, the ancient and unique red tingle forest is a must-see
during your stay in the south-west!
