TRAVEL | PERTH DAY 3 @ AUSTRALIA
One thing that vividly imprinted in my memory about Albany that
I could bring along with me would have be the spacious compound which is
liberally occupied by each beautiful house within the peaceful neighbourhood,
besides the scenic nature that is further warmed up by the friendly folks
around. We are blessed with several days of beautiful weather which allows us
to capture more wonderful moments during our short stint at this lovely town.
Hence, after checking out from the genial homestay at Spencer’s Park,
we made a quick detour for few attraction spots before really bidding goodbye
to the wonderful Albany on our third day in Western Australia.
ALBANY HERITAGE PARK | NATIONAL ANZAC
CENTRE @ ALBANY, PERTH

National Anzac Centre!
We just went around the lush park in a jiffy without
visiting the centre itself as we do not want to keep our European amigo waiting
too long at his winery in Denmark.
Brief Info On ANZAC Centre
Opened on the
1st of November 2014 by the Prime Ministers of Australia and New Zealand, The
National Anzac Centre is an award-winning facility that uses multimedia,
interactive technology and historical artifacts to create a deeply personal
connection with the past, as well as pay tribute to those who served. The interpretive
content that forms part of the interactive experience was developed by the
Western Australian Museum and the Australian War Memorial and is delivered via
a series of interactive visual and audible displays. The experience delivered
at the NAC is known for commemorating the war through the stories of the Anzacs
as opposed to telling its own story via pro-war or anti-war sentiments.
ANZAC PEACE PARK @ ALBANY, PERTH

Brief Info On ANZAC Peace Park
The Park
features the Pier of Remembrance, the Interpretive Walk and the Lone Pine Grove
as well as being the venue for Albany’s ANZAC Day Service and Parade each year.
The Park is adjacent
to Princess Royal Harbour and each departing ship is represented by an engraved
panel on the Pier of Remembrance as well as the AE2 submarine plaque which sits
at the end of the Pier, a gift to the Albany community from the AE2
Commemorative Foundation.
GIN LAO @ ROCKCLIFFE WINERY, DENMARK WA

Well, just before we departed farther, we got to relish in some delish
Lao food that was passionately dished up by the genial owner of Gin Lao, a pop-up
restaurant located within Rockcliffe Winery offering amazing South-East Asian
cuisine alongside Steve’s wine tasting cellar.
Needless to say, those yummy grubs tickled our palate
amusingly and so happened, I was just thinking of some homey Asian food the
night before while I’m vacationing in Perth, haha.
Hence, Carpe Diem per se!
GREENS POOL @ WILLIAM BAY NATIONAL PARK
More stories here: http://bit.ly/GreensPoolDenmark
Greens Pool lies on the edge of William Bay National Park
and is famous for its turquoise green waters and pristine white sandy beach.
Large granite boulders surround the pool, protecting it from the might of the Great
Southern Ocean.
No wonder this pool makes divine spot for children young and
old especially during summer, due to its gradually safe, sloping rock
formations cut that comes with small crevasses and pools. The wave-less waters
make it easy to spot multitudes of sea creatures if you are into snorkeling or
a perfect shelter to enjoy a wind-free day at the beach.
ELEPHANT ROCKS & ELEPHANT COVE @ WILLIAM BAY NATIONAL PARK
More stories here: http://bit.ly/ElephantRocksElephantCoveDenmark
Those elephant rocks are incredibly shaped themselves, standing
on the beach and gazing out upon the Great Southern Ocean while towering above
you as you enter the cove giving you a sense of perspective. It is just about merely 10 minutes or less on foot from the Greens Pool
Do those rocks remind you of some animals- elephant?
Yeah, hence the name! Hehe…
As it name suggests, Elephant Rocks looks exactly like a
herd of elephants, paddling in the shallow waters and enjoying it in a degage
manner. It’s definitely a popular spot and a must-visit whenever you are in the
South Coast for the beautiful Denmark.
This enclave is certainly another beautiful resident of the South
West Coast apart from the mesmerizing Wind Mill Farm in Albany too.
More stories coming up on Rockcliffe Winery as well as wholesome meals at Mrs Jones Cafe the very next day.
Cheers for now and follow us at Carpe Diem for more ‘food-ful’
discoveries! ❤ℒℴѵℯ❤
