ANTE’s VALENTINES @ PUBLIKA, SOLARIS DUTAMAS

 

Just heard of the latest news that this particular ANTE outlet at Publika would cease its operations very soon. It has been a really awesome place to go to whenever it comes to porky feast and frankly speaking, bit reluctant to have it gone too. Anyway, before it fully draws its curtains, thought of sharing another pleasant visit to this restaurant which encapsulates yet another precious moment.

We were there for their sumptuous Valentine’s 4- course menu before Covid 19 hits. Hence, this sharing will be just short but sweet to conjure back the nostalgia toothsomely (=

 

Amuse Bouche

Jamon Iberico on Country Bread, balsamic glaze, peach slices and sour cream spread

 

Starter

Freshwater prawn with cauliflower puree, medallions of pork tenderloin served with béarnaise sauce

 

Mains

Olive Pork Collar Steak

With truffle mash and vegetable medley, porcini mushroom and wine sauce

 

English Hereford Beef Flank Steak

With beetroots, carrots and pickled shallots and green peppercorn sauce

 

Dessert

Varlhona Chocolate Delice

With plum, Italian meringue and mandarin orange gel

 

Choice of Wine

Chardonnay

Cabernet Sauvignon

 

In a nutshell, it can’t go wrong when it comes to meat dishes (that’s their forte okay! ^^) besides their dessert which is also very promising indeed. For chocolate indulgence, usually my palate would only be aroused by Varlhona selection, coincidentally this French chocolate brand also share the same yen of mine for French butter, hehe. Somehow, only butter from France gives me that inexplicable richness that I always seek for in my dairy delight. Nonetheless, butter from Australia and New Zealand are rather nice too, on top of Irish butter which tends to be more golden and yellow in colour. All in all, they makes a good bread spread as well as in baking.

And yeah, had another round of chocolaty indulgence to sober me up after 2 glasses of wines. Yes, you heard it right and i have both of them, lolz.
