CASSIS RESTAURANT @ TTDI | KL FRENCH JAPANESE HAUTE CUISINE
With the brand name bearing the iconic fruit from Burgundy,
Cassis is located few shops down from Lut
Gastrobar and intuitively identified by its minimalist yellowish glowing entrance
to the upper floor which then leads diners to an interior of pristine understatement.
The space is aesthetically designed for utter languor and comfort, yet the atmosphere is buttoned-up with fresh flowers on every table against the splendour white-themed space. The sight of them is akin to a prelude that literally just unwind you effortlessly while preparing you for the gastronomical session next.
We were there for their 4-Course Lunch Menu, which we felt
was a lovely deal packaged at MYR188 per pax considering the course are
elaborately crafted with fine food and ingredients of French quintessence.
TO START
***********
Bread Basket
Chicken Liver
Mousse with Drunken Raisins , Sardine 'n' Garlic Butter
Lemon-Vanilla Marmalade & Truffle Cream Cheese
Chicken Croquette with
Black Truffle
Lobster Puff
New Zealand Salmon King
Tartare
Burrata with Tomato,
Basil, Extra Virgin Olive, Aged Balsamic
Confit Abalone with Extra Virgin Olive Oil
The breads were very soft and inhouse baked freshly that went really well with specially concocted house relish. The buttery croissant wass divine, together with the pillowy soft rustic loaves that pulled off so well with the truffled cream cheese that was uber umami, on top of the crispy crepe that amusingly complemented by the salmon tartare.
SOUP
***********
Smoked Clam Chowder
~ Fish Nugget, Corn,
Garlic Crouton, Parsley ~
Duck Foie Gras with
Japanese Perch ‘n’ Miso Caramel
(supplement MYR 68)
The foie gras was
impeccably done, nicely crisped on the outside while remaining melt-in-the-mouth
sensation within. The idea of incorporating fruity peach with miso caramel was
intriguing but reassuring at the same time for it created an unexpected
gustation of pleasant medley of savoury sweetness which I have yet come across
thus far. It also helped to delicately cut through the richness of the foie gras,
simply brilliant!
MAIN
***********
Aged MB5 Australia
Black Angus Sirloin
~ Baby Spinach,
Mushroom, Beef Jus ~
or Miyazaki A5
Sirloin
(supplement MYR180)
We had the beef done medium rare,
it was specklessly tantalizing even on its own without the jus.
Maine Lobster &
Scallop
~ Asparagus,
Lemongrass, Kaffir Lime Leaf, Lobster Sauce ~
(supplement MYR 98)
SWEETS
***********
Shine Muscat Tart
Strawberry Cheesecake
Chocolate 'n' Peanut
Butter Éclair
Mango Yogurt
Earl Grey Jelly with Vanilla Cream
Varlhorna Chocolate Truffle
~ Coffee or Tea ~
All in all, it was a spectacular afternoon of sumptuous
repast, showcasing the intricacy of refined dining. Coupled with the unassuming
ambiance of the venue exclusiveness, it definitely makes the ideal place to
surprise your special ones memorably.
Take care & stay safe everyone!
